Absolutely - he's not the teaboy by any stretch but agree, we may be able to buy our way into their thoughts. However, I think we'll be sacking too early if we sack now as both Moyes and Potter will bide their time. The issue is we do pay people to make those decisions, but those people have appointed Jones, Selles and Martin as the last 3 Managers. I was just asking outside of those two above who realistically you would want in to take over.

But I think this is the problem with society nowadays - people are problem makers not problem solvers - so who should we bring in? I don't think I've seen a realistic good option (a top division Manager, or at least one with some PL experience).

That's not Saintsy. Saintsy is keeping him here until Xmas, sacking him with no contingency plan, putting Lallana in charge (he draws the first game and wins the 3rd and 4th round FA Cup match against lower league opposition). This mini-resurgence proves we don't need to improve the squad and we buy no-one in January, before we go on a run where we get 2 points out of a possible 24 and Lallana gets sacked. We then bring in Big Sam for a mini-resurgence before we go down with 19 points.

Well, I think that's the issue - they don't. There have been various people on this forum, even in the last week, saying that we have a team easily capable of midtable, a superior team to Bournemouth and that we easily have a PL squad. So no, not everyone does. It's not about insight, it's about realism. We were favourites before the season to finish bottom. It wasn't because of the Manager, it was because of the squad.

Just out of interest, if our choice is Rasmus appointing a new Manager, or Martin staying in place, what would people prefer to do? The discussions I've had over the past few days have led to me feeling very depressed about who we can bring in to replace Martin, but I also feel he needs to go as the fans have turned on him and there is no way back now I feel.

Absolutely it is, Ipswich are a good example of this, but ultimately they have a manager who seems to be rather good (although they're still not exactly doing well - a whole 4 points and 1 of them was extremely lucky against us). I don't think we have the opportunity to bring someone in of the quality of McKenna, so not sure what chance we really have.

Exactly this - our fans seem to massively overrate our team and I don't understand why - perhaps it is as a justification for how shit they think Martin is. Martin is a Championship Manager, but our team is also a Championship team.
