A GK that comes for crosses and commands his area and at the other end a center forward that allows us to play more direct when time is a issue and putting the ball into dangerous areas is more effective than possession based football. The Championship has always demanded it from winning sides

We’ve spent more on firing managers than real #9’s! the same striker that could of prevented the whole god awful mess we find ourselves in.

Please give me some leeway, if six chefs all fail to make a good dish with the same ingredients perhaps they aren’t all bad chefs, it might just be the shite ingredients they were given. We spent 8M euros on Downs while Hull go McBurnie on a free transfer. One of them bullied their markers, scored and got an assist while the other looked terrified and disinterested. We desperately needed the finished product and not a project/maybe. Downs will join the growing list of piss poor center forwards that seems to have no end

45 minutes of long balls to a midget striker, followed by 25 minutes of crosses to the same player and finished with 20 minutes of crosses to a taller striker that doesn’t win many headers. Our number 9’s don’t cut it and haven’t done so for a long time

I agree 100% that our chances and creativity will improve, it’s just up to date our 9’s haven’t shown the edge needed to capitalize on it. Fingers crossed 🙏
