It does not appear to have been picked up on any other thread but Jack Stephens talks on the official site about his chances for the first team. He talks about the competition from Fonte, Jos and Seabourne. So can we conclude from this that the club no longer view Stephens as a right back and that he was more than just filling in when he partnered Seabourne in defence last week? If so that certainly gives a bit more balance to our squad options. In fact I would go as far to say that the current squad is a good one to start the season. Over the course of the next few months there may be one or two who find the step up is too much so we can use the January transfer window to strengthen in those areas.

I'm much more confident about the deal happening having read that. I love the bit about the DVD on history of saints interspersed by pictures of butter!

He might mean something like this from the Christmas HCDAJFU thread.... :~)) Mock away. I'm delighted that we can now seriously link ourselves with players like Clyne. It's similarly amusing to see some of the targets we thought were a 'statement of our intent' now becoming anonymous figures in the lower leagues.

Far too good for Pompey.

As far as we know so far he could equally already have temporary clearance.

I love the quote box underneath that succinctly picks out the salient points of the story....

I thought this thread was a joke about Paul Gascogne in Italy

I quite like the shirt but share your views on the quality. Check out the picture of the training top on billy sharps twitter account- the logo looks soooo much better on those tops.

Is that true? First I've heard that comment.

No you would perhaps but not me. It was a serious injury and it always known that he would miss the pres season and then a bit more. Do we need back up for his attributes? After 1 goal in only 7 appearances, I'm still trying to work out what his attributes are. But I did see enough to conclude he was a decent signing.

either that or this one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_B%C3%BCttner He started his career in midfield and has converted to a left back with Vitesse. So he can play either role (midfield centre of left side apparently). At the end of the day if we are recuiting players who can only play in one of the 11 positions on the pitch they need to be bloody good at it or they need to adapt. Otherwise they are not much use to us.

Not bad. I think I may well be with you later in the season longing to get the stripes back but for now I'm happy with the new shirt. I like the stripes but there is a limit what you can do with them and my favourite all time kits are the sash and some of the plain red kits of the 80s. In the season ticket DVD cortese said how the club has changed but the supporters have not. I don't think he was intending to pay us a compliment. At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their personal opinion and flipping between stripes and a more radical design every other year strikes me as a way yo keep everyone happy. Just take a look at the smiling faces on the os gallery and you realise that this bickering is undoubtedly out of place in a family club.

What a complete shambles our ticket office is!!

You will only have to prove the concession status if challenged. If it obvious you are a child or a pensioner, you will go straight through. Only red lights will need assistance. -
It makes a lot of sense for sponsors logo and marketing in Asia. I like them. White more so but only just.

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
Mowgli replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
Why do people have to get so personal when someone xpresses an opinion? Personally, I agree that he has a decent record as a manager but he is still an idiot. In managerial terms he is a dinosaur like Harry redknapp. Knows how to win games and (despite his spending at WHU) can manage on a budget but has no respect for fans and this will eventually prove his downfall. IMHO! -
Either way, he's big enough to apologise. Let's move on.
-
Never say never. He's proved a decent back up on the left hand side. If he stays he is available for selection. Who would not want to test themselves at premier league?
-
Ten years at saints. Almost worth a testimonial. Given his time flirting on the edge of the first team he obviously had something about him. But be honest he wasn't the threat in front of goal that I was hoping to see.

The words at the end of the tweet 'could be worse' sounds more like frustration than being ****ed off. I think a lot of you are blowing this out of proportion. I think he is entitled to express a view (which will be received with some comfort by Yeovil fans who might otherwise think it's HIS decision not to move) but I'm sure he will be professional about it. At the end of he day you have to feel some sympathy for a guy who just wants to play football.
