Rickie on the bench? **** it, I've had enough, Adkins out.

Whilst I did not agree with you I did respect your opinion - right up to the comparison with Branfoot when you lost all credibility. -

Spot on. Well said. NA is thinking ahead and looking to the state of WHU in the final half hour. We'll play more on the break first half and JRod has more pace than SLR to cope with that. -
Fair enough but the question is still valid in the sense that Gazza has done OK and Boruc has not played a competitive game in over 6 months. I would like to see him too but happy to wait to the Leeds game and see him in a slightly less critical fixture.

Fee plus wages, which player has represented the biggest waste of money!

Not sure you really understood the question..... ...Tommy Forecast must be the one for me. Others mentioned at least made a few appearances / goals for us. Tommy beats my other thought of Charlie George hands down. -

Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
Mowgli replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It seems to me that this has very little to do with football and is nothing more than a clash of personalities. MLT did a lot for saints and will always be a legend in my book no matter what he says. Markus is also a legend having achieved so much for the club in such a short time. If Nicola was his most trusted friend that is good enough for me. Similarly Lawrie Mac is a legend for his time at the club. He similarly wanted to make his mark when he first arrived. He sold our longest serving player, Terry Paine, because he saw him as a threat and he ordered all the photos of past glories to be put into storage claiming we should look forward not back. This is what happens in life. As for Simon Peach, he does to be fair, prefer printing research rather than tittle tattle and this appears not to be up to his usual standards. -
Seriously? Why would you even want to do that?

As long as its not Kappa.

So why the hell quote it?? It was bad enough to see it he first time.... We are struggling defensively at the minute that is for sure but I also think we are learning. With the current squad I suspect we ay just about finish round lower half of mid table. But with the January transfer window I honestly expect us o kick on and achieve a top ten position.

I'm a Guly fan and get fed up with those who heckle him but to be fair I would be astonished if this actually affected his play. Even the worlds best players will get verbally abused by fans from time to time
-
Actually we only dropped 2 points. Disappointing but not a bad result given the makeshift side and given how Fulham dominated possession. Shame on the fans who gave up and left at 1-2.

Some Tweets Saying We Have Borrowed Against Future Season Ticket Sales
Mowgli replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
For goodness are listen to yourselves. Do you honestly think you lot know what you lot are talking about? Stick to football. Most of you seem to have some decent views there.... -
I have no doubt that we will see some movement in January. Nigel's task until then is to keep the squad believing in the way that they are playing and to stop making silly mistakes. Thankfully, I have not seen heads drop and can honestly see us getting stronger as the season goes on.

How many tactical mistakes is Adkins allowed?
Mowgli replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Exactly my thoughts. I actually think that tactically NA is streets ahead of most NPC managers and is learning fast at this level. But the whole club is going through this learning process now (supporters included). I don't thinking starting Rickie on the bench against City, given his pre season form and the nature of the opposition, was wrong at all. Neither was replacing your three tired players against man u. Above all I would rather see the team to adapt to different oppositions and play attractive football than watch, say, west ham who just want to stay up irrespective of the standard of football they do it with. -
Yes but partly because fox is carrying an injury. It shows how highly NA rates him to view him as the best option at left back even though he's performing around 70%

The "who do we think should be in goal on Saturday" thread
Mowgli replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
It would be insane to play Boruc who has not played any games since April and only trained for a few days. It's between Gazza and Kelvin as I see it. Kelvin has had more to do than Gazza and has had more opportunity to make mistakes, but having put faith in Gazza last week I think Nigel is obliged to stick with him -
Yes it really is. Feel free to express a view on here but the club will make the decisions on what is best in the clubs interests. If you want to run a club you put your hand in your pocket first. Shame about Dickson really. He contributed well in our first promotion season and was capable of playing at a higher level. Just seems to be one of those players who lacks a bit of self belief. Still a good age and would expect to see him move on in January. Hope he does well with his next club
-
Don't really need midfielders. Don't need loans (unless they are young and hungry with an option to buy). Can't sign loans before January. Not sure he's any better than what we have. Has he actually done anything yet in his brief career to warrant interest?
-
You do realise all this talk about attitude is based on one row and one inappropriate tweet about 2 years ago. I've witnessed far worse attitudes on this forum. We need to move on and give the guy a break. There's little doubting his talent and commitment now.
-
Saw that too. Hopefully cortese also saw it and we will not see that steward at the ground in the future.
-
Yes I love that too. No hiding the smile on the seat next to him though eh?
-
Yet had it been rickie's free kick we would be saying how well placed it was. Arsenal were awesome last week and we got the tactics a bit wrong. **** happens. All this nonsense about trying to blame individuals is frankly futile. Tell me how kelvin is short by premier league standards and cannot possibly have the reach against top strikers placing shots close to the woodwork and I would have to agree.
-
What's the problem? I always thought the Brighton games were top drawer suggesting they were both run the right way and with depth. Of course, we got lucky and now we're moving on to the next level
-
That's not a bad call against a club that sets itself up on zonal marking. But I'm sure Nigel will have it covered :-)

Puncheon has been consistently one of the better performers this season. Still one or two aspects of his game that need working on (e.g defensive duties) but I do not see those as being so serious as others. He is a real threat going forward and his understanding with Clyne is what does it for me.
