  1. You guys do realise there was a list of fixtures today that excluded saints right? We play Monday. If everyone else plays a game more than us there is a good chance that a gap will appear.....
  2. Coaching role at Walsall with Dean Smith last I heard and having a positive impact according to the fans - helped them avoid relegation 2010/11. Really good bloke and of course MLT made his debut under his watch. He managed that well (although Matt says he did not apprecia at the time the need to rest young players).
  3. Its also quite enlightening how, now we're in the Premier league, we are getting so many first team and academy players getting interntional call ups. The U19's features 3 youth players this next game - more than any other club. Plus - remember we have (so far) managed to retain players like Lallana, Ward Prowse and Shaw who are coveted by the big 5. So maybe we are in that new era now that everyone longs for.
  4. Probably who he meant but going back further, Chris Nicholl was the best manager we ever sacked.

    January

It's an interesting question. All three are PL quality plus Gaston, Clyne, J Rod and Davies. Which makes you wonder why we cannot survive with them. A couple of good defenders in January would help! I don't think that they will have too much chance to demonstrate their true loyalty as Don Cortese will hold them to their contracts unless a really silly offer comes in. And that's how it should be. Morgan and Adam of course have already shown great loyalty by playing with us in Div 1. Rickie loves it here too.
  6. Yes but look at the author - massve chip on his shoulder.
  7. Yoshida is our best defender atm
  8. As one one les said, losing to Leeds is not so bad but not turning up is really disappointing. More annoyed that SDR and Lee did not shine than the result. But this is the first real bad spell we've had under Adkins since he took over so throwing our toys out of the pram is a bit premature. Those that call for him to be sacked are no better than the players tonight who appear to have given up too soon. Are we not made of tougher stuff than that? Are we not able to take a few defeats on the chin, and battle to pick ourselves up? Why do people nowadays rely on someone else to pick them up and save the trouble of being strong? Gutted as i am there are a few reading fans who are worse off....
  9. Fair point. And I did not have JWP in there so maybe switch the two from my line up and use Cork as the defensve holding midfielder
  10. With Boruc 'under investigation' and Gazza allegedly off to Bristol City (tribal football is the only source I've seen reporting this) maybe its a chance for Davis to get match fit. Davis Clyne Jos Stephens Reeves Schneiderlin Cork Chaplow Guly JRod Mayuka Subs Any keeper we have left, Butterfield, Seabourne, De Ridder, Lee

    Puncheon

Unbelievable comment after today. Ran his socks off
  12. Good interview. Stick by him. Just think for a minute how many players he would take with him to his next club.
  13. Good point. Right now I'm disappointed with the results but I do enjoy going to SMS. It was a good day out. Crap first half. Sound second. Good football in places from both sides
  14. For those that forgot it was a 3pm ko and also forget to put heir clocks back an hour. Don't worry. You'll be fine.
  15. It's nothing more complicated than confidence. We've proved against the Manchester teams that we can hold our own against the best I this league. Schoolboy errors are costing us time and time again. It's not an easy thing to get over because it is more physiological than physical. You need an international break, a few good days on the training ground and a few lucky reassign your next game. It an turn around quite quickly. Changing the manger may have he short term benefit but then you have the longer term problems of rebuilding o their preferred style of play. That can take 2 or3 years. In answer to the original op, vocal backing will inevitably have a positive impact on the pitch.
  16. So don't read the post.
  17. It's you that holds the queue up is it?
  18. Not really. Most are blaming lack of defensive signings, formations, positions, substitutions and instructions from NC. I think there are two good points that come from this article that make it worth a read. The implication that the players we have are good enough and that you cannot play Rickie for 90 minutes every game without risking him.
  19. Listen. We've got a bunch of hard working players at this club who understand that fans pay a lot of money to play good football. We want to reward them with entertaining football. We think we are doing that but we have to win games as well. Listen, I understand their frustrations but we all want the same things. We have a vision here for the way the game should be played. Listen. Everyone has their own view and I will stand or fall by my decisions on formation, team selection and substitutions. Translated... ********* muppets.....
  20. There is a good relationship. The business is one of entertainment. The club focuses on putting a good team together to secure back to back promotions. Ticket sales increase. It's not professional to emloy someone to respond to each and every rumour circulating.
  21. The same points were made about Adkins when we got promoted to the Championship. A lot said he had experience at that level but in relaity failed to survive. NA is the real deal and will only get better. It will really **** me off if I see him get better with another club. The OP is absolutely right. Our rise up the league has been meteoric. NA must be given the freedom to do it his way. Not sure I agreed with Rickie not starting (not sure I disagree either) but it is Nigel's choice. The team is about 18 individuals not just 11.
  22. J Rod is here and playing. Sharp is not. J Road makes more of a difference. Next question?
  23. Because in some perverted way Saintsweb readers would interpret that as confirmation he is about to be sacked. Why do people have to play politics. Just enjoy the football.
  24. In reponse to the original post, yes he is injured. Tweak in groin keeps coming back. Don't want to keep injecting. Needs rest. Explains poor form earlier in season as he tried to play through injury. Still amongst highest with assists from last season. Decent player.
  25. That is probably standard practice with the majority of CEOs but its a bit arrogant to actually say it
