  1. Yosh and Forren for me sounds a good partnership but I can see some rotation here because the position is very demanding given our style of play. Yosh has only made one mistake recently but it's causing lot of debate! Stephens is an interesting case in point but hey are still working on his best position. Converted from RB to CB he captained the U21s yesterday in a defensive midfield role. Looks more like a Cork replacement to me. For me, Turnbull is the one to watch from U21 level.
  2. Can you recommend a good psychologist?
  3. Lol. I wannt to be a Kenilworth Road when they do the half and half scraves with Millwall before the cup game. Actually, I must confess I do have a half and half scarf somewhere.... ...I needed sometihng to keep me dry(ish) in Bucharest in all that rain!! Hopefully that confession will not warrant an immediate forum ban....
  4. Credit where credit is due. Moan U picked them out as the main threats in a starting 11 and stifled them.
  5. The second story in the link provided reads..... A man in Hertfordshire has this evening thrust his head through his television set, killing himself in the process. The TV was switched on at time of death, with the channel tuned to MTV. The alleged time of death strongly suggests Geordie Shore was playing at the moment the man’s forehead and face made contact with the screen ....case dismissed.
  6. Thought the whole list was crazy to be honest. Can't really see any more movements this window.
  7. Seem to remember a similar thread when he first came to the club. Is the ambition to return us to the Premier League in just five years realistically obtainable? Many fans feared we were growing too fast and we would just crash down again. I would trust NC's ambitions against most fans to be honest so yes, with him at the helm it is obtainable. I reallly don't want to be part of a Chelski / Man Citeh deal though. I want to see the vision he has described which has 50% coming through the youth system.
  8. The 'one' being what exactly? Impossible to judge at Premiership level as aprt from a rare cameo appearance he has not been able to show what he can do. At CCC level he held the line well, showed pace, trickery, enthusiasm and decent tackling back. Let's see what MP can get out of him. A good opportunity if he is the one to fill in for Guly tomorrow.
  9. I think we will be OK with the current squad. I think the idea that MP would attract better players is a myth. Similarly I think the suggestion that we were seriously bidding for Coutnho is a myth. My feeling is that NC felt MP was the right man to bring the best out of the current squad. If I am right we will see a revitalised Guly, Lee, Mayuka, Ward Prowse and maybe even De Ridder. Guly and JWP have had their moments this season but I cannot believe the others are as poor as their cameo performances suggest.
  10. On twitter it's alleged that we were interested in the summer before we signed Ramirez and that recent connections to saints we just the vendors efforts to enter a bidding war. Very little point debating this 2 weeks into his tenure tbh
  11. Totally agree - so long as they don't expect to be paid for it. The reward for corporate entertainment should be a seat to watch the game. Nothing more.
  12. Lol at the picture. The presence of Lawrie next to him probably explains it all really. To be honest, if he had gone through the correct channels at the club he probably would have got a good welcome. I think the idea that he can just walk into a members only area and expect to be recognised and welcomed like a hero shows a touch of arrogance. That aside, he was great player. I try to remember the good times and not just his **** up against Anderlecht
  13. Get ABP on board too. It's a nonsense that southampton is the UKs premier cruise port yet the docks are not served by rail. Same line would do the trick.
  14. Phil Neville made a good point yesterday about the reducing number of english players in the PL. Not too bothered about the general picture but I had hoped that Cortese was starting to build the next England team at St Mary's (led by a young English Manager). I'm quite excited about MP coming in but I would be a bit disappointed if people like Ward Prowse, Reeves and Chambers drop down the pecking order at the expense of MPs mates in Spain and South America...
  15. Great atmosphere and classy response from the fans. Best performance so far from Gaston, Guly and Puncheon. Morgan and Cork superb. Nice to get a clean sheet (and I'm not talking about Puncheon) Need to make more of corners - no point in getting them unless we score now and again. Thecorners are good - its what is happening in the middle that concerns me a bit. Too early to say whether the improvement was down to MP. I like to think if Alpine had been made manager they players would still have put an extra effort in. Onthin he did change though was chasing balls down - particularly back passes to the keeper and I lost count of the number of times that resulted in us getting possession back
  16. Don't agree with MLT but the guys is a legend and deserves a view as much as you or me.
  17. No. It will take more than an hour of sub zero temperatures at a ground next to the water to freeze the ground on a pitch that will have been well covered and insulated beforehand.
  18. I'm amazed no one else has suggested it.
  19. A good synopsis... http://www.footballcourier.com/news/story/1899080/why-was-nigel-adkins-sacked/full_story.html
  20. Not your best one
  21. Top man. Honest, hardworking and full of integrity. Has achieved more than I imagined in my wildest dreams. The club is better for your tenure. I will continue to follow your progress and cheer you on at every opportunity. Nice thread by the way - brings us together as one. ....I heard that somewhere. Not my own cliche I'm afraid.
  22. Not demanding at all. Just suggesting. You seem to be working yourself into a lather over something very few others seem too bothered about. You carry on though. Just make sure you check your blood pressure every few seconds. Had it not been for your opening statement that you don't want a discussion on it, I might have pointed out that our suspect area in the summer was defence. We signed Yoshida but kept with the team that got us to the PL to see how they adapted. To replace Jos and Jose straight away would have been panicing because in time, Fonte did adapt. Jos has proved an able deputy and with those three we will IMO survive this season. January is a chance to buy yourself some insurance and that is what we are doing with Forren. All new purchaes must be better than we have to keep us moving in the right direction. But this debate has taken place too many times already. Each time you express an alternative (very weak) view. Why you felt the need to start another thread on it (look at me guys) is almost beyond me.
  23. On Twitter the other day, someone asked Luke Shaw who in the team gave him the most help and advice on his game. He very quickly replied - Punch.
  24. Agreed but I think anyone on the committee should be able to veto if they have that strong a concern.
