If the performances over the last 3 years were maintained then yes. I support saints because I love watching football and I'm addicted to this club and this city. They can play in pink as far as I am concerned. But probably would not buy the shirt lol. As fit the other comments I accept I am in a minority on this forum but talking to people in the real world I get a very different ambivalent view
-
Is the kit really that important to people? Can't help feeling the majority of fans will buy whatever we wear. Yes saints gave traditionally been stripes but personally I would rather not look like a TGI Friday waiter who has just finished his shift so more likely to buy a plain red shirt.

Well he did play for our youth team.... ... but at the risk of some abuse I would put Aaron Flahavan in goal despite him ending up at Pompey. he tragically lost his life at the age of 25 in a car crash but like his brother Darryl was a product of Saints youth. So... Flahavan Kenna Monk Baird Shaw Paine Williams MLT Bale Shearer Channon Subs: Wallace, Wallace, Wallace, Holmes, Bridge, Moran, Godfrey

Didn't moan u team up with Boston Red Sox a few years back? I thought that was a strange gimmick. At least this link is the same sport (roughly speaking) but still has very little going for it.
-
Because others felt he would never be seen at the club. Personally I can't wait to see him play next season. We were joking at WHL how influential Guly was in that game and how funny it would be if those two got together, playing at the same time, and bringing the best out in each other. I can see a few on here choking at just the thought of that

I thought they went out of fashion a few years ago. Not seen any of our players wearing them this year.

Good to see him doing the lap of honour with the other players yesterday.

SAINTS 1-1 Stoke City // Post-Match Reaction
Mowgli replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Normally I would agree with you but thought he was very good today. Disappointing result against the worst team to visit St Mary's this season. We need a prolific scorer next year. Far too many moves for me with people not prepared to take the shot themselves. Still, only two signing required for me. A goal scoring midfielder with pace and another centre back. Astori and lens will do nicely. -
It's much simpler than you think. It's about self survival. The optimists (including me I think) cheer themselves up in bad times by looking for the positive signs to convince them everything will be ok. Their fall when things go wrong is painful but generally short lived. The pessimists try to prepare themselves for the worst by predicting doom and gloom. Whatever the outcome- they will be happy. Either saints survive or they can say 'I was right'

No sell. End of story.

One of the worst 'promising' managers ever.

Good grief. This thread reminds me of the old saying that if you put enough monkeys in a room full of typewriters... ...eventually, one of them will produce the works of Shakespeare. So I guess the correct answer is somewhere in the previous 12 pages but it will be more luck than judgment. Something tells me we will know more after tonights dinner!
-
Rest for what exactly - its the last game of the season! They will all want to be at the party! Isgrove is training with the first team squad this week so will probably get a cameo. Strongest team available. Saints back to their best!

Haha. Why is that? Because neither rumour has been shown to have any substance. Pochettino has predicted Ramirez will be a big player for us next year. Cortese has confirmed that if the Leibherr family's interest in Saints wanes (not that there was any sign of it when he made the statement) that there were other big financial backers who would be intersted in taking their place. Either way, my view is that Cortese will still be here. My view is that he currently has carte blanche on all final decisions. The Leibherr family are probably right to think as most of the money comes from their fathers trust they ought to have at least some say in how the money is spent. The discussions must surely be about how that influence will be built in to the day to day mechanics of running a club. Not a dispute, just a need to get the governance arrangements settled in a way that Cortse and the Leibherrs are all comfortable.

and then he realised it was just a highly polished metal fence....

Still makes me smile that Saggy Chops told his QPR players to target 37 points for safety...

Only Southampton fans could wish for their most talented player to be sold. Hardly know where to start in his defence. As others have said, first season in England can often be difficult for a number of reasons. He's been carrying a fairly serious injury too. But clearly the squad see hime as the most talented player on the training ground and MPs job is to help transpose that to the pitch. Anyway, everyone's entitled to a view. December is probably the time to revisit the debate.

I think the fact that you posted a link to a Will Young video says as much about you as your predictions.
-
Totally agree. There is even a chance to move up to 11th on Saturday with a realistic chance of a top half finish when we beat stoke. Any thing less, Cortese's will be in a real mood!

De Ridder must be registered as he was on bench saturday

Control the controllables.... -
People think of Guly as a goalscorer which he was but more of a creative midfielder role these days. So long as you are not relying on him to score goals he does a really good job. Top drawer yesterday though his tackles lack a bit of timing sometimes and he was lucky not to get a yellow I thought. Spurs definitely breathed a collective sigh of relief when he went off.

This. I think we need to remind ourselves that before the game yesterday we had lost one game in 7. WBA was indeed a poor game (a touch of over confidence perhaps) but that aside we've played good football both attacking and defensively. We were back to our best yesterday and held them every step of the way only to be beaten on the line by a class goal. But rather than try and be devisive I think we can all agree the real target is for us to get 6 points from the last two games and sod the others. I think Sunderland is definitely winnable and my theory will be proved (or disproved!) Monday night. I do not think Di Canio is a good manager. He lifted them with boyish enthusiasm and lots of cliches. That got them a couple of wins but he will soon get found out. The players will realise there's no substance behind the rhetoric and will be back to their usual level. He will respond with bullying and that wil **** them off. The first signs were there against villa I think.

Policy of not revealing injuries and players fitness
Mowgli replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
I think maybe you're overstating the case a bit. I was one of those that quite liked the way the club played things close to their chest. Just as I smiled at WGS banning supporters from training sessinos so we gave nothing away. Largely based on the fact that we have historically had quite a few people who used to embarrass the club when they opened their mouths. We're at a new level now and when MP speaks he exudes a confidence that does not put the clubs reputation at risk. You almost feel - so what, we'll win whatever team we put out. That said we have are going to have a helluva match tomorrwo and would be pleased to get anything out of it at all. I'm just looking for a good day out really.
