I've not read anything that suggests the injury is career threatening. He will be back playing in Div 1 if not the Championship in time. Just needs stability with one club. Pointless thread really.
-
Agreed. Looking at it again the arm is a bit high to claim a natural position. Let's put it this way, if it was the other way around and we had been refused a panelty we would be livid!
-
The way the club is run means that the change in manager should have a very marginal impact on the suitability of different players. Forren actually met with MP the day before NA was sacked so he is very much part of his plans and no, he's not slower than Jos or Fonte. The pace of play in Norway is what was slower. He has not featured yet because the existing CB pairing have done OK. But Saturday may give MP an excuse to try him out on Saturday. I don't totally blame Jos for the own goal but on a couple of occassions his dithering very nearly cost us. Certainly did not help overall confidence!

Good grief. He's 21 years old and already has Premier League experience. Very rare for a goalkeeper to prove his worth at that age and very foolish to predict whether he will make it or not. He has 10 years to go before he is even approaching his peak. He has a contract here. He has presence about him and he has confidence. Plenty to build on.

Can I just point out that we are much closer to 11th than 18th. Just saying....

Most important player signing of past 3.5 years?
Mowgli replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
Lambert. Who would have though that through our journey to Div 1 and back we would actually hold on to the likes of Lallana and Schneiderlin though. Their 're-signings' were immense (at least I think Morgan re-signed....). I nearly named Shaw though because his first pro signing marked a watershed for the club - to be endorsed with a full contrat this summer hopefully. It did not matter how much we kidded ourselves, the likes of Oxo, Walcott and Bale were never going to stay long. Hopefully Shaw has shown that statement of intent NOT to sell our best young players. -
Worst - West Brom (a) Best - Man City (h) I think the WBA result was when the decision was made to repalce Adkins. Cortese knew it, Adkins knew it and many of the fans knew it (although not me at the time I have to admit). Since then, the improvement in results may have saved him, had the wheels not have already been put in motion. In the long run, I suspect SFC and NA will both move on to better things.

So what happened to the ITK posters who alleged he was structurally altering the building without permission but left before he had a chance to finish the work. Or did I imagine that? Having said that it is comforting to see the majority of supporters coming to the conclusion that this is a non issue for us football fans. Sort of thing that happens all the time with rented accommodation and normally covered by a hefty up front deposit. Hopefully it will get sorted to Frannie's satisfaction and won't leave him out of pocket cos he really is a true gentleman and does not warrant a tarnished reputation.

To be fair, don't we get a sell on clause for Forescast?

One Of The First Things Ever Taught To Young Footballers
Mowgli replied to TijuanaTim's topic in The Saints
Gery Neville was arguing the other day that this was no longer a good strategy in the modern game. Playing an attacker on side is one aspect. Leaving a player unmarked in the box is another and getting in the goalies way is another. Also, if you are on the line and you swing your foot back to clear you are in fact moving behind the line. Goal line tchnology will catch you out in due course. It needs to be considered in the context that goalies rarely come off their line nowadays so you sohludnot need to cover for them to the same extent. Tim, they got rid of laces in the ball a while back too ;~) -
He's largely coaching with the U21s but he has some overseas contacts - esp Tunisia so is probably keeping an eye on talent. No disrespect but I'm not sure what this sudden obsession is with fans demanding reports on the inner workings of the club, like we are all are quailified to say whether they are doing a good job or not. NC is doing a pretty good job overseeing the various arms of the club to ensure we have a good profile and a good recruitment process. Radhi is just one of several hundred cogs in a very big wheel.
-
No because every contract has a clause linking to relegation. You take salary drop or you move on.
-
Don't think any of those were total failures. You missed out quite a few though....
-
Not quite sure where you are looking but http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/fairplay/_/league/eng.1/barclays-premier-league?cc=5739 is always bang up to date. If we get there you can be sure NC will make sure we have a big enough squad. In reality it will be a great opportunity for some of the youngsters to step up to the plate. It's the one summer that does not involve our player in Euros or World Cup either so timing is perfect.

Can anyone explain why people feel the need to get off on these sort issues. Is it that they really don't want to support saints and they are looking for way out or are their lives so empty and shallow this all they can do to feel alive. Either way they need serious medical help. For the record, I think Cortese is an egotistical bully and a perfectionist. Al the qualities required of a good businessman. Saints are reaping the benefits of that. Frankie and MLT Are legends always will be. But the guy who sits next to me at the stadium is no less important to the future of our great club.
-
ah, but how many assists....
-
And I can understand that. I've seen Mayuka play a few times and there are two things that occurred to me (in the way we played him). He can't head the ball. He can't even jump. But he is undoubtedly a strong lad of the Billy Sharp type who can hold off a player a close quarters. He has blistering pace and a good eye for goal but not so strong playing the holding role and laying it off for others. I honestly can't recall his crossing ability. So I don't really know how best we would play him. If MP finds a good role for him and it works, it will be good evidence that Cortese knew what he was doing changing the managers around.
-
But he is, in fact Le God, whereas we are meagre mortal... ;~) That aside - agree with everything you say
-
On a positive note, I think Frannie deserves a mention here. Huge respect to the guy for being a Gent and not making his argument public.
-
Haha. You could make many derogatory comments about him and you chose this one. Given what he is doing at Saints I think that is the least appropriate word.
-
Not quite what he said on twitter. He said he was in the MLT suite and security guards were outside to stop him going anywhere other than to the toilet or to his seat. Guess what. Anyone who gets a ticket in hospitality is not allowed to wander aimlessly around the club. They only have access to the suite they are booked in and there are stewards all over the place to make sure you only leave for the toilet or for your match day seat. This is all politely explained by the hostess when you arrive. Matt was treated no differently than any other punter.
-
Correct - and tried in a defensive midfield role last weekend.
-
Posts like this frankly astound me. Fox and Richardson have both proved able deputies. We also have cork and forren to play in those positions. Then there is young and targett from the u21s. The latter of which is training with the first team this week. If you wa t to support saints, you need to have a bit of faith.

Not bad but not Johno quick...

And 4 points that many thought were beyond us.
