The world’s wealthiest man and current collaborator to the world most powerful just inaugurated. That’s why some groups are kissing his arse despite him giving the wink to people who would like to see them destroyed again. It makes sense alright but it’s vile.

In your opinion. Plenty of Jewish sources who are appalled by it and not seeking/cowed by Musk’s money. That salute and what was done to those Jewish people in that camp are inextricably linked, because that’s where fascism takes you. Christopher Polhaus and his ilk enjoyed it and are encouraged by it. Musk could’ve simply put his hand on his heart like the national anthem does. But he chose not to and hasn’t repudiated it. That’s on him and those gaslighting for him.

The fact there are laughing emojis on some of the posts speaks volumes. I remember going on a school trip to Germany not long after the Berlin Wall fell to this former camp https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sachsenhausen_concentration_camp It (the museum) must have only just opened. The gold teeth extracted and the lampshades made of Jewish skin I will never forget. If you want to get in the gutter and laugh at that, and be gaslit by a wealthy man, go for it. But everyone knows that was a Nazi salute, and what they stood for. He could have said it was misconstrued but very sorry anybody thought it was. Easy to correct. But he didn’t, and that tells us the truth. That school trip, there were typical teenage boys larking around with salutes outside the museum, but they fucking weren’t afterwards. Big, strapping lads ashen faced and silent.

Allied to the fact billionaires in the crowd cheered it. Whereas here we have plenty of visual reminders of Nazi raids and bombs, including in Southampton city centre.

Only he can explain why he did it and own it. The trace of a smirk across his face tells me he knew exactly what he was doing and the storm it would create. It upstaged Trump somewhat which was his real aim I suspect. But he is a very troubled individual so who knows.

It was. Plenty of modern day Nazis are convinced too https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/elon-musk-salute-reaction-right-wing-extremists-1235241866/ As for the ADL, plenty of other Israeli groups including Zionist believe the ADL is sucking up to the world’s wealthiest fascist. Shame on the ADL, letting themselves and Jewish people down for a few quid https://www.timesofisrael.com/how-did-the-adl-conclude-that-elon-musk-didnt-give-a-nazi-salute-it-isnt-saying/ But then that’s all Trump people care about - money. And his economy will only deliver higher inflation and prices anyway.

Try that in Germany and enjoy the prison time. Or Australia https://ministers.ag.gov.au/media-centre/nazi-salute-and-hate-symbols-now-outlawed-08-01-2024 I don’t think that’s company you want to be keeping Hypo. PS - putting a laughing emoji to do with anything to Nazis disrespects these people and the risks they took so you could have the freedom of speech in the first place https://apnews.com/article/dday-veterans-anniversary-war-normandy-796b6ca453660a32e7925c1191205b81

Post what you like Hypo but Musk did a Nazi salute. End of debate. More chance of Saints staying up this season than anyone believing otherwise. My grandfather fought those cunts in North Africa and Italy and knew what a Nazi looked like https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politics-news/musk-nazi-salute-trump-rally-1236113874/

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Gloucester Saint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Yep, there’d been pockets of trouble in some of the East Midlands and northern towns where the hotels were for a couple of years at least. Southport was the excuse, the reason people didn’t riot after London Bridge, 7/7 (I was on the north bound tube) was because the economy was doing better. The EDL were wrongly reported as being organisers because of some knuckle draggers chanting for Tommy Robinson but the very active and dangerous Patriotic Alternative were actually cited as being involved and certainly promoted it actively around the far right and white supremacist circuit. The group cited by Michael Gove as a group of sharply increasing concern and extremist motivations https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/uk-riots-patriotic-alternative-fundraiser-b2626667.html Those rioting weren’t for the most part far right troublemakers? Give me a break https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13719905/Far-right-thugs-humbled-face-justice-Rioter-28-shakes-cries-court-admits-punching-black-man-protester-knocked-ground-police-shield-admits-spitting-officers-three-jailed-today-violent-demos.html https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/14/world/europe/neo-nazi-uk-riots-elon-musk.html https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/08/09/riots-latest-news-protesters-stay-home/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_Kingdom_riots Good brief article here stating the EDL disbanded and wrongly pinned on riots, but PA and other white extremist groups were very active, and why they should be tagged extremists not terrorists as it gives them oxygen they want https://icct.nl/publication/british-disorder-why-we-need-take-far-right-violence-more-seriously -
1997, David Hirst got the winner IIRC. As a Wendy legend that wouldn’t have down well with the Leeds fans!

Everton away 1999, 500 of us max, conceded 4 in 10 minutes either side of half-time including a comedy own goal between Claus and Paul Jones. Saints and Everton fought with Liverpool in one of the local pubs. Bolton away 2002, less than 300, Wayne Bridge scored what we thought was a late winner but Djorkaeff equalised in injury time. Terrible game but good day out. WGS didn’t play a recognised striker that day and last time he did. Turned out to be rather a good season… Remember the Boro game, highlight of Stuart Gray’s time as manager.

That’s America and Americans in a nutshell.

Thought I’d share last week’s ales I tried. Also went here on Saturday - excellent establishment and the farm shop had a lovely little selection of local and craft beers including Deya https://www.green-dragon-inn.co.uk

It’s not until September but I’m already dreading the Ryder Cup over there. Europe fans can be vocal as well but not hollering ‘USA, USA’ everywhere and shouting ‘Get in the Hole’ at every par 3 when one of their players tees off. Their spectators started the trend of cheering opponents going in water and bunkers which a small minority of Europe’s more idiot spectators replicate in the home matches. Great when Colin Montgomerie used to always win and give it back. It was superb when the late, great Payne Stewart faced down some of the idiots in the galleries and said ‘Colin’s my friend, when you insult my friends I have a problem with you and I will kick you off the course’. Takes a class act like that to take a stand. Stewart played it hard but fair, way it should be. They will even go demented when De Chambreau launches 375 yards off the tee. Being America no rough to contend with.

Awaiting the Jack Sullivan Instagram update.

People say ‘he doesn’t do half the stuff he says’ but at some point he will and the uncertainty isn’t helping globally. It doesn’t exactly discourage Xi and his designs on Taiwan behaviourally either, nor Putin with half of the Baltic if he hadn’t reduced his armed forces and economy to rubble already,

Saves the cost of building a wall 🙂

He’s inconsistent which can happen with younger players in a new league with limited experience. Him and Downes should have playing together far more often which would have helped Flynn as well, but the bloke from Norwich didn’t agree.

I’m genuinely sorry for your loss. But do consider others will have a different reaction to it.

A lot of people on here have lost relatives to blood cancers or recovered from it themselves. Read the room and don’t be a prick. Cancer and football are not comparable.
-
Agree with that. Although you are going to apologise to everyone for your dreadful post about Smallbone and cancer Thursday night.

League One or two maybe but 13 games is simply nowhere near the record of a Billy Sharp, Jordan Rhodes, or an Adam Armstrong at Championship level over several seasons. MLG has to give way on this point, the facts aren’t changing. He’s had his shorts pulled down.
-
One purple patch on a very small sample of 13 games at most, we are not talking a Billy Sharp or Jordan Rhodes track-record. Gabbiadini would have scored 30 goals a season based on his first half-dozen Saints matches but it was out of kilter with the rest of his track record. Stewart is a League One/SPL lower/Scottish Champ striker.
