  1. 370-7 - started well with the ball but yes, pitch dried out and short boundaries at Taunton. Aldridge’s farewell present before joining Durham. Should have at least got them all out today before the rain all day tomorrow to maximise bowling points. But Worcs have held firm at Durham - 311/5. Will check the forecast to see if it’s still better there.
  2. WGS and Lawrie slow starters. Pellegrino reasonable start and then became the worst Saints manager I’ve ever seen. Reed and Kruger must have on the lash most of that season to not sack him until March.
  3. Under Cameron I can see it - right wing economics/austerity combined with social liberalism. But May was socially more conservative, Boris who knows? Thatcher was the sea change but it’s compromise with the electorate after that and even she had to compromise eg NHS Safe with Us campaign.
  4. They won’t vote Lib Dem anyway and we don’t tend to do so well in those areas. Farage wouldn’t like all of his lies and the flop of Brexit exposed. The reason Sir Ed has avoided it is he saw how it destroyed Swinson, but different circumstances now.
  5. Kruger saying the current Tory party is too left wing is like eating one of these, and saying it tastes like a Korma https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phall
  6. Not much prospect of play other than tomorrow https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2636177 Better forecast in Durham at the moment, today a goner, half day Weds so 2.5 days to force a win v Worcestershire, possibly three if the outfield isn’t too wet on Weds to start on time https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2653224
  7. Might as well as have done that yesterday for all the entertainment the derby game provided.
  8. Yeah, that fence looks none too stable.
  9. Hmmm, Middle Eastern appearance, maybe Turkish even?
  10. Which one are you Hypo? The light blue football shirt in Reform colours is surely Duck? Can’t see WSS in a pork pie hat so I’ll guess that’s Holmes & Watson…
  11. Good one liner but I have seen an under pressure fellow senior leader in one workplace do something like that to garner empathy….
  12. There probably is a club stupid enough - SR if they hadn’t already experienced him. Highly talented young manager? Should have gone to Specsavers Dragan…
  13. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce802dmgnyro 🎵 Oh, Toryform, Toryform for you 🎵 (older posters may get the joke) Quite apt as Reform are a tampon to soak up the hardest right ex-Conservatives leaking out. Another evangelical - strong resemblance albeit at miniature scale to MAGA. No fucking thanks.
  14. Neither of their keepers looked capable, both were rash and their reserve looked very nervous. Astonishing lack of professionalism to not swing crosses, free kicks and corners in underneath the bar to treat him out. But that’s not a surprise with Saints over the last few years. Today just reinforced the impression of a club who have simply given up.
  15. Well, Still is going to have find out how to unlock that version of Downes again. Meanwhile, pair Jandar and Charles until he does.
  16. Their fans were with ‘Tommy’ yesterday and picked up that word.
  17. I think Farmer Saint was right in the sense he’s a pure Martin system player and can only function as the holding player going sideways or backwards. In other words a pound shop Jim Magilton.
  18. I’m not pressing the panic button yet but the Hull match is simply must win with the flux they’re in and Boro home as well. That would give him some breathing space after today’s borefest. Scienza needs to start, squad needs some personality desperately to lift a very boring and risk-averse squad. Get Fellows going at his full back the other side and start with Jander, Downes was appalling, with any luck todays yellow gets him suspension anyway.
  19. Not impressed with Still but have you seen the state of Rangers? One off the bottom. In the SPL. Martin is ruined and will never manage at first team club level again.
  20. Yeah…about today. Said the right things post-match but Hull and Boro are now must-win matches back to back. I think he’s on thin ice if he loses at Hull, Martin’s players didn’t help him today.
  21. I think he will be under a lot more pressure if he doesn’t. This and Boro are six pointers for him and must-win.
  22. If we are, he will be long gone by that stage. Hull next week is must-win or the pressure will start to pile on. Over the next 3-4 games it has to be 8-10 points and a much clearer identity.
  23. Agree very much, Downes carried the ball forward well once on 65 minutes to threaten their back line but it was the only time he did it.
  24. That’s what Still has to achieve now. Hull away next Saturday is must-win, no excuses acceptable.
  25. I love Milds as well. Such a connection to our industrial heritage and they can be all kinds of different strengths.
