I'd love to see Akechuckwu come off the bench instead of Edozie. He looked promising but seems to have disappeared .
-
You live in South Wales and not Wrexham..thats a plus.
-
Last time i saw their goalscorer Tolaj play was up at the Silverlake about 3 years ago. He was on the Aldershot bench and their keeper got sent off after 20 mins. They didnt bring a sub keeper so he was brought on and went in goal...all 5ft 9 of him! Also saw Le Tiss walking out with the fans at the end yesterday, all suited and booted walking back towards the bridge and he went virtually unnoticed.
-
Absolutely , but more to the point it highlights how shockingly bad Sports Republic have been in player and manager recruitment which accelerated our demise from the Premier League to becoming a Championship club. I feel sorry for Bazunu but I'm glad he's not our keeper anymore.
-
Wrexham and Millwall at home last season
-
We play similar to Russball but with more intensity in the final third ( when we're on our game) .
-
I read somewhere that he's got a couple of A levels in two other languages...brighter than the average footballer.
-
Fair enough, but Juric made zero difference and imo I really can't see how that squad would have gotten the additional 27 points ontop of our 12 to get 4th bottom
-
What more could have another manager done with that squad? Well I guess get us promoted like he did..not alot else to achieve really ...maybe as runaway champions would have been nice We were always back going down with a whimper regardless of the manager . PSR and Sports Republics ineptitude in transfer dealing gave us no chance of survival. I'm not Martin fanboy thats for sure but it doesn't mean that I can't recognise the success we had under him and having a memorable season of taking my kid and him actually seeing a Saints team win regularly for a change in high scoring games...happy weekends are not to be sniffed at.
-
Apart from our longest ever unbeaten run in the club's history and promotion to the Prem....apart from that yeah , he's been poor.
-
Yep exactly, we've got 8 points from our last 4 games...ticking along nicely , disappointing not to hold on today and another day we go 2 nil up instead of hitting the inside of the post . Disappointed we didn't bring in another Larin type striker after binning off, BBD, Downes, Archer and Stewart.
-
Underrated by alot of supporters . He got 7 goals and 4 assists in the 23/24 season , to think we'd could get him for free whilst Dobbin cost 9m, Fellows 8m .
-
Stephens is pretty average imo , many feel he's alot worse than that! I've always felt he's prejudiced against because he replaced arguably our best ever CB pairing in VVD and Fonte and he's miles off that level and that has stayed with many fans. We all know his weaknesses but overall I thought he was fine last season and he made no more errors than THB or Wood ....but , I'm all for replacing him if we can find genuine upgrades... for me the jury is still out on Wood, Schlotterbeck and the new young lad as well ...let's see what happens.
-
Schlotterbeck looks decent but he got away with 2 bad errors on Tues with Stansfield hitting the post . We all know the reaction on social media if Stephens had done this but Schlotterbeck is newbie and deserves a run of games . It's going to be interesting to see who ends up being the 2 main men at the back as the season progresses.
-
Mubama is only a loan with no option to buy so if he ends up getting pushed down the pecking order because we find a more suitable alternative to Larin then so be it.
-
Exactly....We had a 3 game week and won the 2 games that mattered and scored 8 goals in the process. The West Ham League Cup was an irrelevence. Apart from the first 15m today there was just so many positives. Happy weekend everyone.
-
I'd definitely be looking to shift him on , particularly whilst we could still get a decent fee for him. Zero goals from one of your attackers in a side aiming for promotion is simply unacceptable. 5 assists is nowhere near enough. I enjoy watching him play and he puts in decent crosses but we really need more goals from the right side of our attack if we're serious about promotion.

I'm a hypocrite. I forked out 6.50 for a Pukka Steak Pie and enjoyed it...twat -
As for the game , it was crap tonight, poor performances all round but I'm certainly not going to crash out just yet! It's a 3 game week and we've won 1, lost the irrelevant middle one , just need to get a decent result against Millwall and no one remembers this. A draw wouldn't be a disaster either...
-
We always drive past the Leonardo Hotel on West Quay Rd ...(Used to be the Grand De Vere). The Saints players are normally in there and we've seen them get back on the coach about 1.30 and head to the ground.

All the food and all the drink is overpriced crap served up by imbeciles. Best to avoid and make the club think again about what they're serving up and charging. -
Maybe they should have charged 15 quid and a 5er for kids. 5/10k more fans would have gone. Parents can then afford to take their Kids to their first match and possibly becoming lifetime supporters. More food , drinks, shop merchandise sold. Better atmosphere for the players.
-
Poor first half , dominant second. Deserved the win. Both strikers on the scoresheet. Happy weekend everyone

Im kind of torn at the moment between thinking things will be fine , we'll sign a couple of top quality players for this level and over a 46 game season will be right up there in the top 1-4 positions.... On the other hand I can't let go of the thought that Sports Republic have converted us into a Championship side that are light years behind the level required to compete back in the Prem, and its hard under their ownership to see that they have the scruples to get us back to that level. ...are we being mugged off and all they want is to player trade 5/10m players into 20/30m players...end of.
-
I agree with Blackmore. We've gone from the 23/24 season with Armstrong playing down the right getting 20 plus goals . Last season we alternated between Matsuki and Fellows in the same position and they totalled 4 goals... One of Coventry's strengths last year was they had consistent goalscorers in Wright, Mason Clark, Thomas Asante and Sims.
