An absolute must sign player if we dont go up ....a possible squad addition player if we do go up. He's been brilliant for us ...what a players he's turned out to be and shows how often an older striker who's had his up and downs but is mentally tough and has the inner strength that most young prospects lack....hopefully a lesson learnt for Sports Republic and this is all down the Spors who we really need to keep hold of too. The reaction on here when he signed was frankly embarrassing..obviously not everyone and I can understand a cautious response due to SR track record. But some people really did soil their pants and made themselves look a little daft tbh.

Saints 2-2 Bristol City - Match Thread
Oh no Mick Mills replied to Tommy Mulgrew's topic in The Saints
Don't agree with this. When both the Bristol City goals went in the Northam and the Itchen North where I sit , quickly got a loud OWTS going . -
Ni Nick on the Ugly Inside rates Baz too.

It says on the club website that you can Transfer tickets . It doesn't state that it has to be to other season ticket holders , it just say you must not sell them. -
What’s your unpopular opinion on Saints?

Love to agree with you but I've seen too many occasions where he's missed straightforward chances to score or at least get it on target. -
Would we have won the league with Ramsdale and Onuachu?
Oh no Mick Mills replied to SaintsRoyalty's topic in The Saints
Onuachu was in and out of that terrible team. I don't recall many players being consistently decent for us that season apart from Ramsdale. He still managed to score more goals in that season than Armstrong ever scored for us in the Prem. Yet how many goals did Arma score in the Championship? I reckon Onuachu would have got plenty for us at this level. -

We got 51 points with Ralph in charge in the 19/20 season compared to Puels 49 for the 8th spot. Playing the high press game was much more entertaining to watch and we had the pleasure of seeing Danny Ings score 22 Premier goals. Puel was dull and his football was often dull too but I agree he also did well with a limited squad. With the benefit of hindsight, I preferred Ralph . It was a tumultuous love affair with lots of ups and downs and a disastrous ending but so much more exciting than safe old Claude . -

As embarrassing as that was, we ended up finishing 11th that season. Our most successful season with Ralph in charge. I think we won 7 out of our last 9 and at times ayed some pretty sensational football. We somehow did this with Stephens and Bednarek and McCarthy in goal . -

I'd be tempted to take Azaz off when he's having " one of his days" . Put Edozie on the left and stick Leo behind either Stewart and Larin. -

I'm guessing we'll need about 75 points to take 6th spot going by the previous 5 seasons. We'll need to win either 10 of our last 14 games or 9 and 3 draws . This means we can afford to only lose 2 or 3 more games . Here's hoping the lads can keep going and stay on a great run. -
I'm no Russell Martin fan, but tbf people can say his football was boring and as you jokingly say goals don't matter. Just to go all MLG on you. The 23/24 season our 46 games had 150 goals which was the highest in the Championship. A crap premier league manager with messiah like delusions ..yes. An entertaining Championship manager with games full of goals and ultimately promotion...also yes!

Thanks, saved me posting the same thing....in the good old days blah blah blah.

Finally a chance to finish above them. We haven't since the Claude Puel reign....embarrassing. -
Imo that's a very negative slant on the players we've brought in. I appreciate he's not exactly a marquee signing but that would never happen in the January transfer window for a Championship side. People keep saying how difficult it is to bring in a striker as they are like gold dust and anyone with a really decent record is not coming to us 100%. You take Brandon Thomas Assante for example. He's got 10 goals in 20 games for Cov this season yet they gambled on him where his record was 72 games 17 goals at West Brom and 100 odd games 24 goals for league 2 Salford... This guy would only be a loan ..you never know he could exactly what we need...or am I being a deluded optimist!

Why are people crashing out about this potential incoming?? Have you seen him play? Spors has made recruitment mistakes for sure...who doesn't. Are we not happy with Scienza, Perth, Jander, Azaz ...or are they also terrible recruitments? Such massive bedwetting on here at times it's shocking. If he does cone here and hes crap, fair play to the experts and clairvoyant that saw it coming!
-
Exactly. We've been pretty crap but one highlight is we have a consistent Championship level top 5 scorer in our team. I'm not always his biggest fan , we all know his weaknesses, chances missed, runs without scoring , but he such a decent all round attacker. I think lots of fans may regret wishing him gone. We just need to sign a fit version of Ross Stewart and shift out Archer...this is the common sense move for me. 4-2-3-1. Either Stewart or new big guy as the 1. Azaz centre of the 3 with either Scienza, Armstrong, Fellows or Robinson in the wide positions. Or 4-3-3. Drop Azaz. Play Charles, Downes, Jander or Bragg in the 3. New big fella or Stewart with two wide men ... Scienza, Fellows , Armstrong or Robinson .
-
Just to add i really like Fellows , he's exciting to watch, really good crosser. Bur how can we expect to be successful if one of your main attacking threats never scores??
-
We're going to be in the Championship next season. I'd definitely keep Armstrong and try and convince him to stay. Quite simply we need another big target man striker and then I'd play Armstrong on the right. He got nearly as many assists as fellows but will also score a hatful of goals...unlike Fellows.

Check out the Stoke City FC website. They have a list of available car parks for away fans.

He's not the leading scorer. He's on 11. Vipotnik at Swansea is on 13. -
I enjoyed yesterday. It was worth the long coach trip up there. Yes we were crap in the 2nd half but ultimately we're through to the 4th round .
-
Exactly mate. Lots to crash out about our terrible season. Selling a 5th choice CB for 1.5m profit is fine. He was crap in his 9 starts. We won 2 of those 9 btw. If he can't get above Woods , Stephens and Quarshie that tells you all you need to know. If he does well at QPR ..Well good luck to him and it clearly wasn't meant to be with us...
-
I'm surprised so many fans rated him. In his 8 starts we won 2 games and I dont recall a game where he stood out. Easily bullied , small and slow for a CB . Appreciate he'll now likely turn into Van Dyke for QPR but hey ho .
