Regardless of whether Juric's tactics are right or not, I find it hard to understand his team selection . If he wanted 3/5 at the back he could have started yesterday with a defence of KWP, Stephens, Bednarek, ABK and Welington. Instead he picked 2 players who are not centre backs. Also he could have recalled Charles and kept Edwards to give himself more options in defence.

When we signed him, Juric said his best position is the one Fernandes plays in --- which is just weird , given that Fernandes is one of our best players. So unless Fernandes gets injured, groenboek will have to be really good to get in the side. What we needed and still need is a striker.

The only way I'm coping with this bloody awful period on our history is by pretending we're playing a run of pre-season friendlies before starting in the championship in 25/26. Results don't matter, and we're seeing various different players trying out in unfamiliar positions to gain fitness. Plus Juric appears to be going for a record number of full backs on the pitch at once. 😉

Read somewhere that he's been used in midfield as well as defence? I could see him being a success as a defensive midfielder. He's naturally defensive but is a bit short for a centre back. So with him and Shea Charles behind Fernandes, that's our midfield sorted for next year.

Yeah But he still played a goalkeeper in goal. Really old-fashioned. Reckon we could put another full back there. 😉

He's surely earning far too much now for us to be able to afford him.

In real old money a no.8 was an inside left and a no.10 an inside right , or vice versa Nothing new under the sun. 😉

He sounds to be more competition fot Fernandes (1 of our best players) than a defensive midfielder or a striker -- the positions where we need competition IMO. Still, maybe it's beggars can't be choosers with our league position. 😒

Given Downes got booked yet again last night, it's only a matter of time till he's suspended injured again, leaving only big Les as a defensive midfielder . (Don't really see Aribo as DM Charles is the obvious back up and/or alternative. And he played as CB and even RB for us so can cover lots of positions. Clearly we're doomed to relegation this season, but we can improve and regain some confidence as last night showed - and there's a cup run possible.

Well as you say, it won't be! If it was 10mill, I'd say no if he still has a long contract.

Think the rumour is more that Sheffield united want to buy him, not loan. ..... which would be a major mistake IMO.

I think juric has already said he should go out on loan to get game time. I really feel he should have been given more of a chance here this season. As it is, maybe a loan will do him good

What I can't understand is why he's left it so late to take any action. Let's face it, we could appoint a mixture of Clark Kent, Alec Ferguson and Pep Guardiola as DoF now and we'll still be going down , quite possibly with a record low points total.
