  1. One would presume it's similar to the 'Colinjb has posted about a shirt, time to roll out the same comments as usual' face?
  2. A bit similar in style to our first all-red nasty in 2012. With that new/old badge though, looks really distinctive. Wonder what the Wednesdayites think of it.
  3. Felt inspired to blog for the first time in 2 years... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/entry.php?131-Jos%E9-Miguel-da-Rocha-Fonte
  4. Jose Fonte is my favourite current player. A cornerstone in our rise from league 1, it's no coincidence that three already excellent centre backs (Lovren, Alderweireld and Van Dijk) have looked even better alongside him. It's also certainly no coincidence that Portugal became rock-solid with him at the back, doing the dirty work while Pepe takes the plaudits. He is the relentless, ever present machine that keeps our, and your foundations strong. That he has won one of the biggest trophies in world football as a Saint is wonderful, it will always be something I treasure. Cedric, it was good to see what he can do, but he was pushed out of the team by right by a back up utility player from the dutch league. Whether he wasn't gelling with our ex manager or just distracted by the upcoming tournament, not sure. He has a lot to prove this season though.
  5. Is anyone having difficulty getting their season ticket discount online?
  6. Nothing to worry about there.
  7. I like Yoshi. Great third choice, I would only look to bring someone else in if they are markedly better then VVD or Fonte, frankly, I don't think there are many available to fit that bill.
  8. Good news. Really warmed to him since he joined and he fully deserves the new deal. Our squad is coming together for the new season nicely. #wemelton
  9. Great stuff. Welcome aboard Pierre Hojbjerg!
  10. He will be missed. But for the money he is on, I do not blame him for moving. Two years of that and his family will be set for generations.

Let me think, hang on........ I can do this.......
  12. In modern browsers, there is room for Fonte alongside the existing chaps. José, I salute you.
  13. An absolute hero. Bloody love the bloke.

    Jose, Cedric!!! YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. The fight will be to get to the highest rung possible. We are on a lower rung..... which is the implication of your double negative. So i'm not sure what your point is..... Should we not try to push on?
  16. It's not so much that we sell, it's who we are selling too. I want to see us get to the point where the players that leave us do not step down in terms of competition to further themselves (Mané joining Liverpool, f**king Liverpool who regardless of their history are not even in Europe this season and very far from an apex predator in the transfer market.) We need to get to the point where the players who leave us go to Barcelona, Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester City. Not the sides we are directly competing with, ones who really are contemporary heavy hitters. All clubs in this country, with the exception of those bankrolled by billionaires are selling clubs, so lets try and make use of it rather then fight against it.

Home advantage doing them proud. Would love to have been there tonight to experience that atmosphere.
  20. That's alright. No terrible square panel for the virgin media logo, nice understated away kit to the same pattern. Hope it's nicely made.
  21. No shirt news, but just had a great e-mail from the club detailing how I can use my 10% season ticket discount online now. Must be preparing the ground for the 'reveal.'

    Claude Puel

Nice's stadium is rather good, so not surprised.
  23. Baulking at 20m? Surely not what an ambitious club like Everton should be doing.
  24. I don't think we should be surprised by there being a lull in the talent being produced, we are in the period now where the kids that should have joined the club during our difficult time around administration in 2009 should be maturing and starting to break into the fringes of the first team. Naturally, there we other concerns at the time and that we still managed to produce players who can contribute at the level we were relegated to at the time is to our credit. The real picture will emerge in the next two or three years when the lads who joined us at the start of the decade and our resurrection reach maturity.
  25. +1 For consistency.
