Who would you give as examples of this right now?
  2. OOoo, Tempting.
  3. Lucky Steve!
  4. Fat on breaded scampi?
  5. Ha! Love it.
  6. Was going to say 'Les Miserables,' but just need to look on here for that.
  7. So, ignore those that you do not see as talking politely and only converse with those that are. You can block people you don't like (It's a very useful tool.)
  8. Is that ensuring team Harmony? Morgan's head certainly isn't right, we have a player worth in excess of £20m playing chicken with his career currently. Do we have the same commercial and total income as Everton to keep our team together, they have massive wages for some of their players, could we really match them? I accept your points but we are not Everton, we are not as big as Everton or have their financial means. We are not a big club, we are currently mid table premier league at best. So given that how would we have kept the squad together?
  9. It seems that the view outside of your own is not welcome either on that basis. It works both ways, you cannot totally dismiss the views of others and expect them to unconditionally accept your own viewpoint as definitive.
  10. How would you have managed this whilst ensuring team harmony and financial stability? Just curious....
  11. An idea, however the advantage I see for this qjacker system is that it doesn't only remove the need to purchase, it also tell the servers how much they need to have ready. If the stock is there immediately to go (15 x Beers, 12 x Hot Chocolates, 9 x Burgers etc) then they can be at hand and ready to go. That would really speed things up, show ticket, get goods, go. Ten seconds rather then 30. Contactless cards will only remove the need to organise money, there would still be added time to put the items together.
  12. As an aside, I wonder what wages he was on.
  13. Out of those stats it's clear to see that Everton transformed from a club experiencing ten years of stagnation into one of the best clubs outside of the champions league spots. Not a bad thing to try, no? I'm not disputing Everton's size compared to ourselves but to try and emulate their recent progress is surely not a bad idea? Why be so down on it? Why can Everton do that and yet Aston Villa and Newcastle havn't in recent times?
  14. I would assume the Everton model that saw them stop being Premier League relegation fodder at the very start of last decade and move into the category of a consistent top 8 club.
  15. Good luck to Billy. Pushed us over the line back into the Premier League two and a half years ago, hope he gets the chance to shine.
  16. I don't believe that a top ten finish will be achieved this year, however I agree with the principles that you are applying. Whilst we are no bigger in terms of general stature then many of the teams around us the academy provides a springboard for greater generation of funding and talent. A slower long term approach can see us grow, but there will be challenges in ensuring that the academy continues it's success and that any funds reinvested do actively strengthen us through adding greater strength in depth and improving on what we have. I would look at Atletico Madrid as another inspiration, continually selling their better players but maintaining a knack of coming out of it smelling of roses.
  17. Quite. By very definition an Agent works on the behalf of someone, they are their representative. If the agent misrepresents his client that's another matter, but the client is responsible for their behaviour.
  18. 3 years ago I might have agreed with you. After a stint chasing the money in the middle east I cannot see him being the right fit. His goal rate is still rather impressive though, 81 in 65 appearances for Al Ain.
  19. See, I don't see it as defeating the object, for creatures of habit like Dad and myself it's ideal. Order our half time drinks a day beforehand, go down at half time, beat the queue, miss less of the game.

Their front three made us look amateur that day.

Pacey, strong and can run the channels, also capable of scoring and dragging defenders out of position to create space for Pelle or the creative midfielders. The Leverkusen game showed a need for someone who can stretch the centre backs of the opposition and force their line back. While he is not world class he will do a job and I shall not take out any frustration over the combined factors of his price, the state of the market and our weak bargaining position. Welcome aboard Shane. Good luck.
  22. Clearly that!
  23. Oh that would be beautiful.
  24. Welcome to the forum john_ro. Thanks for the opinion on Gardos. As far as the Romanian media is concerned is this a done deal?
