Southampton Football Club to announce permanent tribute to Markus Liebherr
Colinjb replied to JxgrSaint's topic in The Saints
He will have the appropriate portion named after him. The Rupert Lowe subs bench. For those who may squander potential. -
Genuinely, I feel he is declining as a player.... Which is on the face of it madness when he is currently at the peak of his professional standing. However, I stand by my feeling. He peaked with us and now will enjoy a brief Indian summer before his journeyman joints succumb to the excesses he indulged in during the early part of his career. He is easily worth 4m to Liverpool, but not a Captain. He is still absolutely my favourite professional footballer... Yet he is at his apex. Only one way to go.

Don't pray for Luke, he'll be fine. Should the very worst happen he and his family will never need to work again.

Koeman's first Southampton press conference 11/7/14
Colinjb replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Going through the full twenty minutes on youtube. My thoughts. 1) Impressive, his manner and demeanor. Excellent. He is in control, he is clearly already the boss. He dealt with the questions about Van Gaal and Suarez well, not cutting the journalist's noses off but respecting his role and commented within turn. He is able to keep the media on side while being able to keep his cards close to his chest. 2) On that basis, Pelle is happening. He wouldn't have said it was close otherwise.... He is not a Bull****ter. 3) This is a man manager, the perfect man to transition us to a new era. Handle the egos and build a new side. He will be happy to bring through the kids if they are good enough. 4) Dejan and Morgan starting v Liverpool? I wouldn't bet against it. "He is a Southampton player...." 5) We are a top ten Premier League side. He has the attitude and profile to cement that. -
"Drunk" gets my perspective.

Morgan. Give him a substantial pay raise, the arm band and a massive vote of confidence. S. Davis as a second choice.

The Markus Liebherr Academy. A lasting legacy for future generations for the benefit of Southampton and it's Football Club. -
Liverpool fan reaction's to Suarez - are they for real...

What a bunch of delusional f**ks. Typical Scouse sense of entitlement and self importance. It's fine when you do it to other clubs but when someone does it to you you don't understand? W**kers the lot of them. Yes, they havn't endeared themselves to me recently. -
Puerile, but amusing. As above, he's brought it on himself though, he could have been a Le Tissier for a new generation, instead he has made his bed.
-
A fair point. But I'm enjoying the fact that he has the presence and confidence to be that direct and assertive. We are a Premier League team with money to spend and excellent infrastructure, it's good that we are finally acting like it.

I don't know, he always marvels at how I know what they are going to print a day beforehand.
-
. Very good. Too many letters in 'are' though.

My Dad reads the echo, what are you trying to say?

An understanding and application of grammar and structure are not pre-requisites for a professional journalist? I'm sorry, couldn't disagree more. I have no issue with the article's content but to express it in the way he has attempted is beyond amateur and insulting to the audience.

The team: Cropper, Mason, Clinton, Debayo, Wood, Little, Flannigan, Irvine, Hesketh, Rowe, Seager. The forward line is decent enough, not sure about the defence though.
-
Liverpool will not be able to replace Suarez. Not even with 75m.
-
Jetro Willems didn't go to the world cup. No other Dutch player has those initials.
-
Terrible, straight from the Neil Allen school of grammar and melodrama. That is genuinely unreadable. Another nail in the Echo's coffin.

I would give credit to Pardew too, he really changed the entire mentality of the dressing room. Stories of his team talks during the 2009 pre-season were quite stirring. -

A current Hungarian international! Just checked, he played v England in 2010, his international debut. Since amassed 17 caps, and a goal v San Marino. The year before he signed for us he couldn't get a game at Southend and was sent on loan to Stevenage. -

Hungarian centre back, wasn't that bad if memory serves. Loan was terminated when we went into administration.
