He was very composed in the first half, some excellent attacking moves went through him, the ball just stuck to him. Yes, his second half has been poor but so has everyone else in the side for the last 45 minutes.
-
He had an excellent first half. If there needs to be a scapegoat it should be Theo. Rickie's trying to do too much, daft flicks with every ball rather then dictating the pace and bringing his team-mates into play. He's forgotten what he's good at.
-
I'ld get them both in as an option already to be fair.

Backs to the wall gentlemen. (Just as I type that, we break upfeild, Lambert plays a lovely pass and we get a corner.)
-
Big, big chance to Ukraine, could have been a penalty. Free kick instead. Jesus that wasn't far away.
-
I just think he is looking a little tired. Yes, he is isolated, but everything stuck to him in the first half. It isn't now.
-
Young for Wilshere, injury perhaps?
-
Rickie is beginning to look a bit crude. His sharpness is going.
-
Has to be a better option then Theo right now.
-
Rickie won't be subbed. No other options. He'll be shattered for Sunday.
-
Theo is incapable of passing a ball. He really hasn't progressed since leaving us.
-
The forward line is being quite fluid on the centre and right again. Theo taking centre when Rickie drops deep and goes out wide. Rickie is missing Danny Welbeck.
-
In other news Luxembourg have equalised v Northern Ireland.
-
Lambert drops in, wins the ball, feeds it perfectly to Walcott.... who fluffs his lines. Just need one of these to work.
-
Their number ten is enjoying playing against Walker.
-
Lambert already threading it through the Ukraine defence, dropped deep, ball through onto Walcott's run. 'Keeper injured, corner to England.
-
Rickie's first touch, holds off a defender to lay the ball off for a Gerrard strike.
-
Theo starting on the right in the Welbeck role from Friday. Early threat from Ukraine, our defender caught standing.
-
All b*llocks aside, here we go. Heavy atmosphere there. Hope we can feed off it.

Ask your insectoid cousin Beesy if he has seen any.

I suppose it depends on which part of the statement you take in isolation. 'Tested like never before' or 'Tested like never before at International level.' As above, I would agree that he has already been tested against better teams with us last year. So yes, while he may not have been tested like this in an England shirt I am confident he's up to it.

The emergence of the 'wing' forward as it where is actually something I quite enjoy, particularly when it's used as effectively as it has been by us in recent years to get the best out of Rickie. The best moves against Moldova and with us at times have been when the quick man has switched roles with the centre forward, All of a sudden the fullbacks have someone standing off them and the centre backs having someone taking the game directly at them. This can wrong-foot the rhythm of the defending team and with the service someone like Rickie can provide from the wing feeding his fellow attacker (Welbeck, Rodriguez, etc) it can cause a lot of damage. With Welbeck out I can see Lambert being encouraged to work with Walcott in the same way tonight with Milner trying to snuff out any threat the Ukraine will have from the other wing. Whether Theo can link up in the same way we'll see. He has the pace to make it work, but end product? Well, I always rated him as a better finisher then Welbeck... could be wrong.

Remove JWP and you take away our set piece delivery. I would start him instead of Morgan.

What's the location mate?

Carroll out, injured again on returning to training. West Ham havn't looked great this season, but yes, as you would expect from Allardyce they will defend stoutly. I'll be optimistic and believe we will convert at least one of the chances we carve out, Osvaldo from a Rickie assist. 1-0.
