In the name of the good cause, i'll match it Kraken, based on our original bet.
-
If could lay out two shirts with identical creases that would be one heck of a skill. And yes, as Alpine says, doesn't mean one or the other is wrong yet.
-
Are we being played.....?
-
The similarity there is astounding. They have managed to straighten the badge out this time though!
-
The desire is to see the team play in stripes. I have no idea what effect that would have on the finances!!! It could be positive, could be negative... simply do not know. It's all about trying to raise the profile of a preference for the team to play in stripes by some supporters.
-
If there was a boycott it would cause short term damage by harming immediate sales. Yes there may be long term benefit... but that is speculation. As I said there are for/against arguments for many approaches that could be taken.

Looks like I may be wrong:
-
Which is why I will understand if people do not buy the shirt. As I said, the group was to raise awareness of the desire of many fans of Saints to see the team return to stripes.... no further agenda or aim, the group description is as follows: I am not trying to lead a shirt burning rabble... just raise the profile of this as it had started to get a little swept under the carpet. as I said, although things are at an early and small scale right now, it appears to be working.
-
That's what some were speculating last year.
-
There are arguments for and against both courses of action. It's not for me to say how people should protest... I just wanted to start a group exclaiming a desire for the club to return to red and white stripes. It turns out that currently close to 200 people agree with me and have joined. I wanted to highlight the issue. As things stand, it's working, albeit in a small way.

A shame you can't separate the concept of a boycott with a dislike of the design. Each to their own Jamie.

Pointless Early 2014/15 Kit Speculation Thread
Colinjb replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Considering that it is currently 2013... the logic is totally sound. -
Yes, I totally understand the logic in what you say, less sales = commercial pressure on the club. It is not my desire though to damage the club, just see the stripes return and hopefully highlight the issue to those that care.
-
The campaign is for a return to stripes. Not to boycott the club merchandise or damage the club in any way. If people want to avoid buying the shirt to back up their point, I totally understand.
-
Equally one sale will not make a difference either. I dislike the design, but I will buy the shirt. I've always been upfront about that. I collect them for heaven's sake!! It will however always be my absolute preference and desire for the team and club I support to play in red and white stripes. That conviction will not change. That is why I started the campaign. I completely understand the apparent contradiction..... respectfully though it's my own business what I do with my money. I hope next year to be spending it on a red and white striped home shirt.
-
Because I want us to be in stripes. Not solid red. - It is clear I am not alone in that desire. I don't want to damage the club in any way and I will not damage my own habits because of it but I want to see us back in stripes.
-
Yep. We are sponsored by a cubed monkey!
-
Despite starting the #saveourstripes campaign... yes I will be buying it. I collect the shirts, I will continue the collection. It will no doubt be nice to wear and be reasonably made.... but it is not a 'Southampton' kit.
-
I believe the away shirt will be black with gold trim, not silver.
-
Oh Kraken..........
-
Well, one is stitched the other screen printed. At least the sponsor is not as obtrusive this year.
-
Gold! Always believe in your soul...........
-
They are in the armed forces. One of my best friends was laid off this morning.
-
Fastest selling. Not biggest selling. It just means that at the point it went on sale they sold more per minute/hour then any other shirt on record.... of course it depends what data they have on record to justify it against.

Good info Alpine, thank you. Has anyone researched flights/travel at all?
