  1. Comedy defending there. Skate penalty.
  2. The Skates are turning the screw now, good game this.
  3. David Connolly. 1-1
  4. What a goal!!! Did he mean it!? Yep, he did, superbly placed.
  5. One of those players that always seemed to score against us.
  6. We were very dissapointing against West Brom last year in both games, so on that basis probably. On their day Yacob and Mulumbu were up there with the best midfield partnerships in the division. Thankfully for us Schneiderlin and Cork also proved effective when it mattered, add in Wanyama now and I would say it's the strongest position for us, thankfully, I believe we have the full-backs and forward options to compliment and make the most of it. How West Brom will cope without Lukaku and Fortuné this year will be critical for them. One position does not a team make.
  7. Again, factor in form. Our midfield didn't gain plaudits last year needlessly, and West Brom's midfield were excellent as i've already stated.
  8. West Brom defeated us on the break and through poor defending, not in central midfield. It is the nature of football that tactics can nullify strength in certain areas, it's where the managers make their money. Factor in form as well (we were terrible on the 27th April...) and that's why football is such a fascinating game. We also dominated Man Utd at Old Trafford among others but you need strength in other areas to maximise the positives.
  9. Carrick, Cleverley and Anderson versus Yacob, Mulumbu Yeah, on their day West Brom's are at least a match for them. As you would expect the champions will have more strength in depth in that one position.
  10. Considering how acclaimed Argentinian internation Claudio Yacob and Youssouf Mulumbu were, it wouldn't be that big a stretch.
  11. Once a Saint, always a Saint. Come on Stanley!!!
  12. Wasn't it Claus Lundekvam? Yep, a 0-2 defeat in 2008 in the game you remembered v Celtic. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/2403330.Saints_0_Celtic_2___Claus_Lundekvam_testimonial/
  13. F**k you!
  14. Yep, had pondered that on the way through the list.
  15. For me there was no ambiguity whatsoever and of course he can answer for himself. The confrontational tone of this thread really is symptomatic of the problems on here right now. Regarding the position, I've already contributed to the thread earlier.
  16. Kraken, he's clearly referring to the position itself rather then their entire team.
  17. So, if this is the start of a trend we would have: Arsenal Gunners Aston Villa Lions Cardiff Dragons Chelsea Lions Crystal Palace Eagles Everton Toffees Fulham Cottagers Hull Tigers Liverpool Reds Manchester Blues Manchester Devils Newcastle Barcodes Norwich Canaries Southampton Saints Stoke City Potters Sunderland Black Cats Swansea Swans Tottenham Cock(eril)s West Bromwich Throstles West Ham Knuckle-draggers Really not sure about some of those....
  18. There is a very definitive difference between naming the club after a part of it's home city and adopting the nickname into the official title.
  19. Not on the Hull forum it isn't. They are livid. http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=forum&forum_id=4&thread_id=16076
  20. I think Kent's T20 team used the Spitfires name after tying up with Shepherd Neame brewery.
  21. Portsmouth Sailor Boys?
  22. It would be nice if they added St Mary's to the game.
  23. That's very tacky and classless. Not at all surprising though.
  24. Can't believe that exists!
