Having seen the lives of many friends and colleagues ruined by the economic crash a couple of years ago, the indignant attitude of the public sectors unions in the face of economic realisty makes my blood boil. Even if they do have a reduced pension they have job security above far above and beyond sense and reason.... and they keep wanting more!

Probably a good idea, need to cover all angles. Out of interest, ever heard of a player called 'Goolie da Prada'? Apparently we've been linked to him.

...and that is exactly why the fotball league are ratifying the UEFA financial fair play rules. £15k per week wages at second tier levels are utterly rediculous. How will the Skates cope with only being able to spend what they earn in 2012/13?

Championship fixtures released - Leeds at home first
Colinjb replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
Yeah, silly as it sounds after 2 years playing Yeovil, Bournemouth, Oldham, Swindon etc... To see Leeds, West Ham, Birmingham, Forest as the rival names is a bit of an eye opener. It will be a seriously competitive competition this year. -
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that Pardew may not be here for much longer.

A nice romantic evening together on Green Street should do it. Just tell her Elijah Wood has been there and she'll be fine.

Considering the "festive" fixtures, boxing day etc..... things seem a little too co-ordinated to be random, but I doubt there is any true logic there, it is the football league after all. -
The players are not the problem. Stuart Pearce is. How the hell did this guy get such international esteem after his time at Manchester City, when he blunted Keegans attacking side with unrelenting negativism.

The 2011 Summer 'It's so bloody boring, lets have a Saints quiz' thread.

Ok. Quizmaster butting in. The questions need 'ONE' definitve answer..... Declare, lets give the point and move on. -

Better to be a surprised pessimist then depressed optimist. -
This. The boy done good. As for most footballers at that level, his playing career is almost secondary.

Seat Arosa or VW Lupo Awesome little small vehicles. Small, perfectly formed and so, sooooooooooooo economical. Having said that, 3D only...... Like the old Mini.

First fixture: Coventry away #crosses fingers# -
How would you get involved with that? My Dad is a retired engineer and avid steam fanatic. Would there be any demand for his volunteered services?

Who was your favourite foreign Saints player? (current players don't count)
Colinjb replied to dune's topic in The Saints
His recent time with the team may help my opinion..... But as a 'favourite' I could only think of Papa Waigo. -
Not sure if this still applies, but there was a 'veterans' league that Colden Common F.C. used to enter a side into. Not sure if there would be any clubs near you that would have a similar set up.

My thoughts are with you here mate. I hate being away from my other half's little one, she isn't even my own little girl but it really hurts being away from her during the week while I work. Love that little girl as though she's my own daughter. The madness of these things is that there are many good men who would walk through minefields to see their children and a minority who couldn't care less... naturally it's the minority that ruin things for everyone in terms of reputation. Little girls actual Daddy lives just 10 miles away from her in Herefordshire, but only sees her once a month or so. Madness.

I do my classes at Memorial Park, Coventry. But i'm sure they will have a venue in Southampton. Yes, just checked and they do sessions on Southampton Common. http://www.britmilfit.com/

It's excellent. The sessions last an hour and you really do work hard in them. You start with a mobile warm up, then into combinations of shuttle runs, circuit training and various other sit up, burpee type repetitions. Best thing to do would be to go along for the free first lesson that they allow, there are three standards of workout so even if you are not that fit you'll be able to keep pace. There have been times it's felt really hard work, but i've never walked away from a session thinking i've not enjoyed it.

To help get the ball rolling.... I used to coach youth football until a month ago. I am equally as obsessed with Formula 1 as I am with Saints. I do fitness training with British Military Fitness 3 times a week (although not at the moment as my ankle is rather badly sprained) and bide my time between Coventry and Hereford. Also I spend a bit too much time playing Football Manager.

Now you're talking!!!!

Sadly, in terms of marketting sense it makes sense.... it drives us mad, we feel frustrated and used.... but it'll just make people want it more.

Thin stripes just reminds me of this: Never did like that shirt. Really wish we could have worn it a bit more though.
