Respectfully I disagree. You wouldn't get as far as he did in industry unless he was slightly resilient. While he may have felt a little humbled, I'm sure he would be honoured to be held in such high esteem. That image of him with the scarf is also utterly iconic for us. As far as I am concerned it is perfect for the purpose.

As noble as the sentiment is, the design of this flag will not be able to please everyone. Best thing to do would surely be to take the 4 or so best designs and then hold a vote on which one should be put into place. Not everyone will be happy, but at least it would be selected in as fair a manner possible.

Yes, the same Spyker which is meant to have been beginning mass production of it's sports cars in Coventry imminently for the past 18 months. There has been a lot of broken promises and obligations over that, so it bodes well elsewhere.

Sorry Gecko, it's just a bit busy for a flag. Lovely graphic work as usual but just too much for the purpose. The two tone red/White ideas shown earlier just look cleaner, better to me.

For me, this is perfect.

The Aygo, Citroen C1 and Pug 107 are all great. All available as a five door, Citroen and Toyotas are available with a diesel. The Petrol versions however deliver easily over 55 mpg and are cheaper to buy. (As well as more refined!) I had a 107 as a hire car on holiday this year, loved it. It had covered over 100k miles, presumably all on bumpy Maltese roads, it felt as tight as many new cars i've tried. Was extremely impressive, if a little spartan.

Shame. I liked him, looked a good prospect. All the best to him.

Fantastic. If you are struggling for writers (and think something along the lines of my blogs would be suitable...) I would be happy to contribute mate. All the best with it chap.

Just like 99% of the private sector that suffered in the recession. The businesses that closed, the houses repossesed, the communities that had their hearts ripped out. For many thousands of people a reduced pension plan would be the least of their concerns.
-
Quite. They shouldn't expact any sympathy though. I believe 'distain' is the more appropriate term.
-
But unlike the public sectors, there are companies that have gone to the wall for exactly these reasons. In the public sector, this would be very unlikely.
-
Having seen the lives of many friends and colleagues ruined by the economic crash a couple of years ago, the indignant attitude of the public sectors unions in the face of economic realisty makes my blood boil. Even if they do have a reduced pension they have job security above far above and beyond sense and reason.... and they keep wanting more!

Probably a good idea, need to cover all angles. Out of interest, ever heard of a player called 'Goolie da Prada'? Apparently we've been linked to him.

...and that is exactly why the fotball league are ratifying the UEFA financial fair play rules. £15k per week wages at second tier levels are utterly rediculous. How will the Skates cope with only being able to spend what they earn in 2012/13?

Championship fixtures released - Leeds at home first
Colinjb replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
Yeah, silly as it sounds after 2 years playing Yeovil, Bournemouth, Oldham, Swindon etc... To see Leeds, West Ham, Birmingham, Forest as the rival names is a bit of an eye opener. It will be a seriously competitive competition this year. -
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that Pardew may not be here for much longer.

A nice romantic evening together on Green Street should do it. Just tell her Elijah Wood has been there and she'll be fine.

Considering the "festive" fixtures, boxing day etc..... things seem a little too co-ordinated to be random, but I doubt there is any true logic there, it is the football league after all. -
The players are not the problem. Stuart Pearce is. How the hell did this guy get such international esteem after his time at Manchester City, when he blunted Keegans attacking side with unrelenting negativism.

The 2011 Summer 'It's so bloody boring, lets have a Saints quiz' thread.

Ok. Quizmaster butting in. The questions need 'ONE' definitve answer..... Declare, lets give the point and move on. -

Better to be a surprised pessimist then depressed optimist. -
This. The boy done good. As for most footballers at that level, his playing career is almost secondary.

Seat Arosa or VW Lupo Awesome little small vehicles. Small, perfectly formed and so, sooooooooooooo economical. Having said that, 3D only...... Like the old Mini.
