Dennis Wise was one of these. Then he briefly played for us. You sometimes need a bit of dis-likable to complete a team. Don't take Dennis Wise as the best example....... Give me a successful team of cvnts over a group of total submissives any day.

Not a single appearance for Tranmere while loaned to them earlier this season. Bit of an odd one. 21, so would be a latter bloomer if at all.

Deserved an opportunity to say goodbye. Played in some of our finest recent teams, a key element of the sides that came 8th, 7th and 6th in consecutive seasons. The league cup final, the San Siro, unlikely yet occasionally excellent goals...... A tireless professional who deserves the greatest of respect. A wonderful sign of maturity from a player who has had such a torrid and difficult time. Possible captain in the making on this basis, pressure from adversity may have created a diamond.

He has been my favourite player over the last few years. A connection with when we first came up, an important part of our best team in recent memory and a scorer of oddly excellent goals in unexpected fixtures. A tireless professional and above all from what I can tell a genuinely good person. (His biography has an odd title, but reads well.) Good luck to him should this be a parting of the ways.
