Even in the relegation year of 2005, we at least looked like scoring. Not sure what point i'm trying to make, just venting about how futile supporting the team feels right now.

He would be right.... Should be far heavier against us. Depends how you take 'well' to mean, mind.

The player Davis reminds me most of is Matt Oakley. Unspectacular, steady, doesn't tend to stand out when we play well, or when we play poorly. Never found wanting or seeming to be exceptional. He is however a vital cog in the machine, only really noticed when he isn't playing at all. Without him we would be worse off and his efforts have been vital in stabilising us back in the top flight over the last 5 years. He was a brilliant signing and remains a key player.

Interesting. He benefited from Sam Allardyce's defensive drilling of that West Ham squad when he went in and the talents of the French lad who's name now deserts me. I feel that the issues we have are with our players now rather then the manager. Nothing suggests to me that Billic could offer an improvement as rather then building on his foundation at West Ham he only took them backwards from his first season.

Aside from them reacting stupidly to Nigel Adkins' 'can they keep up' comment and their snotty reaction to not getting a guard of honour ahead of our vitally important game at Withdean in 2011..... I couldn't care less. They have done well to get promoted and are making a good fight of staying up. Fair play to them.
