In defence of Calum Davenport (Not intended as a pun, but still felt odd to type...) I remember him being a totally different player with us to the one I had seen play for Coventry City just a few months previously. He was calm, dominating and a superb reader of the game. The player we gained was not him.
Agree with the parallels.... Players losing their mojo. No-one seeming to improve. Things just feel inevitable right now.
Same ****, different week. Good first half and go backwards in the second. Baffling substitutions, no tactical feel or clue.
A needless stay of execution for Pellegrino.
One moment yesterday. Hojbjerg pushing out from the back.... Only to have no options and to pass back to the defence. He was angrily gesturing to someone, anyone afterwards to make a run for him to play into.
Alex looked decent. Nothing much to do at Old Trafford (MUCH to the credit of others) but what he did he looked comfortable... and he commanded his area well, very well.
Deserves a run in the side now.
That was decent.
Possibly better for having players in the side who care. McQueen, Yoshi, Hoedt, Stephens, Romeu, etc.
"Hard work fails when talent fails to work hard."
Lets get back to basics, take our resources and push on.
Take away the sentiment...... I don't think this would be a good idea.
High wages, injury prone, not getting into the Arsenal side and 28 years old. At his peak this would be a great signing. As he is now..... It feels wrong, against everything that has seen us push on in recent years.
Although, last year he played 28 times and scored 10.
Devastated that he has joined another stepping stone rather then going to the top of the Pyramid. His ability deserved better then Liverpool. As a human being he is made for that dreadful place.
We are appalling.
There is no organisation, no desire, no imagination. All players have taken a step backward, no-one has developed this season. The club is failing right now.
We havn't looked this bad since 2008/09.
We are not clicking. We do not look like clicking. We have got no-where near the side under Puel at our best, and we have brought in more players since then. Redmond and Tadic have regressed. Gabbiadini has gone from essential to a spare part. The best signs are whether players are improving under a managers guidance. None have progressed over half a season.
Sack him.
