  1. Call me an eternal optimist but my feeling is that this game came a little too soon for us. The mentality and tactics of the team was absolutely crippled last year. You don’t come off an embarrassing season like that without a lot of scars and Still has a big job on his hands. Not just improving the quality of the football but of the mentality of players who really took a kick-in last season. can’t use that excuse forever but I believe that the ins and outs of the summer took us in the right direction overall. We had three debuts and a home debut today. Any reasonable fan would understand that this takes time. last time we came down, we held on to some good players but also loaned in a lot of our team, then spunked our summer transfer budget resigning the same team. We can’t make that mistake again. Club needed a total overhaul and a total rebuild. Squad, tactics, culture, all of it. That takes time. The fish fuckers coming off the back of a full season in the championship, good start to the season and had a game plan. Circumstances dictate that we are in transition, off the back of an international break was a new look team and a new shape. first half was utter crap, total shit show. Still and the players have to answer for that. But I don’t think we’d give that performance in 4 months time, honestly.
  2. Reckon he got tapped up last time he popped over for the hair transplant?
  3. Come on! It’s gonna SLAM shut ffs
  4. Anyone taken a dildo to the mush yet? I can’t relax until I know this has happened.
  5. Above all else, getting rid of the spectre of last year was always going to be so important. Watching us against Ipswich and Stoke, I began to fear we’d be relying on those stranded on the titanic… We’re getting there now. Honestly (and selfishly) I’m not sold on the idea that our strikers are cut out for it but I’d loved to be proved wrong (and am well aware of the stats, thank you) I’d love a left winger and another fullback (incoming!?). Also hoping Bazunu has his break out season for us!! bring on the fish fuckers
  6. And… who’s this little fella with the geordie accent that keeps running around claiming he’s a striker?
  7. Can someone give me a straight list of who we might be/likely signings. Just got in. Any brief descriptive accompanying statements about players also welcome
  8. And then spent an inordinate amount resigning a championship standard team ready for the premier league.
  9. ‘I want that one’
  10. So… for Stephens’ goal on Saturday, did Downs dummy or did he just muddle his feet? Because…. And I’m gonna say it… he looks pretty shit
  11. Not sure we’ll release a DVD of this one
  12. Whilst remaining (necessarily) optimistic that we’ll do some business moving forward, I am gonna just say it. In my humble opinion, it’s a shit show of a team, whatever he puts out. Hopefully we get by with Wrexham being worse
  13. also available in hot pink??
  14. Just seen the new Forest Green Rovers kits… can’t really complain about a stripe-less back.
  15. I canter believe it either. But let’s not foal ourselves, we’re not exactly saddled with transfer news.
  16. Well it’s a good job we did or he wouldn’t be our manager
  17. This thread has just become unbridled chaos.
  18. I’d be interested to know how much the club make on shirt sales. For £65, I fear that a lot of people, quite understandably, will look for knock-offs. There must be some sort of football shirt laffer curve?? They must lose a considerable amount of potential purchases by making them so expensive but figure this is made up in the profit from the higher cost?
  19. Well, you see, the thing about feelings is that they are highly subjective. That’s not to say I am engaging in a sort of moral relativism, just to note how one’s disposition and value system aligns with how such things are expressed. I think maybe it’s a little crass, most probably disagree. Isn’t it wonderful to live in and of a world in which we are free to both express our views and practice an element of emotional autonomy.
  20. You’re probably right. Just feels a little crass.
  21. I’d delay any launch today with the Jota news
  22. Leave it out. A privately educated former investment banker turned multimillionaire using populist, reactionary dog whistle politics trying to whip up a groundswell of working-class anger against people you have far more in common with than you do with him. The guy is not only financially and politically illiterate (stop all foreign aid to major trading partners being an obvious example, inter alia) but also demonises whole communities and demographics of people in order to garner political support from a base largely (and understandably) frustrated at increasing wealth inequality (which, if you read Wilkinson & Pickets’ study ‘The Spirit Level,’ comes with a whole host of social problems: rises in crime, drug use, poor mental and physical health, etc.). The irony is, if you’re pissed off at the above, it’s people like Rupert Lowe who exasperate the social issues, not the people he demonises for your support. Hate-filled, uninformed, economically bankrupt and culturally divisive trash form a hugely privileged bourgeois dickhead, bemoaning how he is a victim from his significantly large platform.
  23. Am I the only one who isn’t bothered about Dibling. Obviously the Kid is very good but, having watched him half-arsing and skulking his way around the pitch for half a season, the thought of him sulking his way through a championship campaign becomes highly likely.
  24. Hate is a strong word. I’d never hate a person, especially not over something so trivial as football… however. Jermaine Wright tested me
  25. ‘…but is he Jonno quick?’
