You say that, but I'm not sure he is, was hanging around a fish and chip shop at the weekend, might have just been having chips and a pickled onion I suppose

You can only truly appreciate the good times once you have experienced the bad. Philosophy.

Pair of tickets needed for Saturday v Arsenal
Football Special replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
Discussion last night at half time, will we manage another 9-0 on this visit to the Premier league? -
I don't disagree with you, there were some particularly frustrating games, but last season was still a refreshing change after the previous years relegation and I do "miss" the championship (yes I know we'll be back there soon enough)
-
One other point from last night - what a terrible away day Bournemouth is, tiny allocation, no atmosphere in the ground, took an age to get into the ground with queueing and multiple searches, coppers stood there with a camera filming you getting searched , suppose they had to do something to justify their days wages , home fans barely managing a song except a muffled "scummers get battered everywhere they go" near the end, wish I could get my £2 back I put in their buckets when we had a whip round to save them late 90s.

I think Lallana was brought in to add experience, Wee Man as well, but neither look capable of playing a whole match Just a shame we couldn't offload ABK, Sulemana and Tall Paul, wages combined just on those three could have gone a long way to decent centre forward Cornet certainly doesn't seem to be the answer
-
Walker Peters is being frozen out due to his contract situation, Sugawara has been decent to be fair but another crazy situation where one of our best players isn't featuring.
-
It's hard work I give you that, keep the faith though. I genuinely could not imagine my kids supporting a different team, would feel weird, Difficult for the youngsters in the modern era relentlessly subjected to the premier league / champions league hype by the media , but it's soulless football for soulless consumers , attaching themselves to winning teams because they want to be associated with success despite never actually going to games.
-
Time to bin the premier league campaign off and focus on this competition, our best / only chance of some enjoyment this season
-
Get a fucking grip man, of course he should support Saints. Did you take him to Wembley? I took mine and the buzz of that day will stay with them for life. Life of ups and mainly downs but give me that over soulless glory hunting any day. Try taking him to your local non-league side if he wants another team to attach to.

This is all RM's audition for the Man City job which will inevitably come his way once Pep departs.
-
Yeah I agree, the Ipswich home game was so nearly the "nick a 1-0" but I can't see many more of those, other managers will really enjoy coming up against this Martin team, so easy to play against
-
Clearly we have quantity over quality. Crazy having 5 forwards on the bench. We spent a lot cumulatively so no one player exceeded wage structure but still end up with big wage bill and several players on big money not even in the squad, it's poor management by the club.

We're already down I'm afraid, there's no way this team scores enough goals to have a chance. I thought we played ok in spells last night but still painfully slow moving the ball forward, just makes it so easy to defend against. I'll take no pleasure from Martin getting sacked but it does seem a case of when not if. Fans arguing with each other in away end last night, it's really having a demoralising affect on the fan base, I'm old enough to not be surprised anymore but feel sorry for the young nippers who want to wear their saints shirts proudly and have to put up with shit from the usual premier league glory hunting fans. At the moment we face a season of breaking all the wrong records.

It's about as likely as a Ball / Mcmenemy dream team coming back to rescue us.
-
Yep although I'd have preferred a day out there on a Saturday to be honest, still should have time for a couple of pints pre match
-
It's a bit of a joke really. Been a perk for season ticket holders as long as I can remember, tried to get my kids the kit before Lazio pre-season and was told by smug shop manager no longer applies except for designated times of the year in promotions but those were unknown. How much are they really saving? Enough to pay Tall Paul for an hour? Hope they lost enough sales to cost them more overall
-
He was £40M+ as well wasn't he, they've spent some big money at times Bournemouth, record signing well over ours so despite being a small club in Dorset with league one fan base financially they have more spending power than us.
-
Having watched a few Bournemouth games this season I sense we're the perfect opponent for them, they like to press and play with energy, can't see us avoiding a silly mistake. Miss the days of the crowd cheering half time score updates at The Dell if the Cherries were winning and having a whip round to help keep the club alive. They still owe us for Neil Moss signing that keep them afloat. Has David Brooks featured for them at all?
-
That's the real South Coast derby, uptheboatmen 👍🏻
-
I think predicting us to get to a semi final qualifies me as an optimist. Anyway, I'm actually looking forward to this , enjoy cup runs 👍🏻
-
Last time we were relegated from the premier league we reached the semi final of this competition so could we be about to see history repeat itself? It's a good draw but I do remember Stoke at home last season being dreadful 0-1 defeat, won't be easy. Game is in school half term would be nice for them to do cheap tickets and get a decent crowd in
-
I think you're probably right, but assume these other games were against Swansea, this on the other hand is THE New Forest derby and anything can happen in these occasions.

Leicester fans starting to turn on Cooper, seems a bit early to me.
