Tyler Dibling - Official: Signs for Everton

His new hair style has devalued him at £20M, plus he looks ridiculous with his socks so low down. -
Tyler Dibling - Official: Signs for Everton

Has Ward-Prowse ever indicated he’d want to return? Seems like a lot of wishful thinking. -
This guy is growing on me more and more every time I see him play. Very impressive again today.

Tyler Dibling - Official: Signs for Everton

I think most on here would’ve taken £40M for Dibling. Unfortunately, Everton probably isn’t the step up he was hoping for, but equally it’s probably his level, and the chance for a quick pay day. No “top eight” club is forking out £40-50M on a young player who has yet to do anything significant in the Premier League. Only if you’re stupid enough are you going to bid that. -
There’s still two weeks left, who knows what will happen. I do find it hard to read some of the bollocks that is plastered all over social media about the window.
-
I’m more convinced Dibling and Fernandes will both be staying. I get the impression that the club would be more inclined to let TD leave but no club is forking out £50M on a player who hasn’t done anything of note so far in their career.

Jack Stephens looked like prime Paulo Maldini today in comparison to Josh Quarshie and Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Very much looking forward, and hoping more than anything to get some significant attacking options come in. Jay Robinson was hands down the best player on the pitch for us. Matty Fernandes not far behind. We got away with it today, especially that second half performance, Ipswich on a better day could’ve scored a couple whereas we didn’t look like getting even one. Onto the next.

One of the commentators today, the main one I think, said Saints are adapting having lost all their big players from last season… Last I checked only Ramsdale and KWP had gone. I wouldn’t have classed Onuachu or Sulemana as big losses 😂
-
THB, Quarshie and Downes have all been poor today

Over X amount of goals across a number of games is always a good one, especially if it’s teams that like to play out from the back (Russell Martin, Frank Lampard etc), and with that generally come fouls because the opposition gets frustrated. I like to go for stuff like that. 😊

In context it made sense. There were several posts from a separate thread that was then moved to create this thread. To those stumbling on this it looks like I created a random thread 😂 But the first post was in response to another poster who shared similar thoughts. It doesn’t bother me, Sky is shit, gone are the days of Soccer Saturday when it was fun to watch. My point was that I hadn’t watched Sky pre/post-match PL analysis for a few years now; but you get off clips pop up and they try to regurgitate the same drama and stories over and over again. EFL coverage is a lot more fun, more varied, different guests and pundits. BBC had one of the best pundit teams of Linekar, Shearer and Wright on MOTD.

There’s still a lot of deadwood at the club. I think of of Matty Fernandes or Tyler Dibling is staying now, I imagine Dibling is the more expendable one because of FFP (100% profit etc). But I don’t see us losing both unless we’re offered stupid money. ABK contract I think will be terminated on the final day of the window if he’s still here. A bit like Ryan Fraser was at Newcastle last season prior to us signing him. Edozie saga seems to be rumbling on, he clearly doesn’t want to be here. BBD as discussed above, who knows, I’m presuming he wants to stay? But I’m basing that on the fact he’s been a part of pre-season and match day squads. Will Smallbone will probably still be here, I’d be surprised if he left. There’s been one report of him leaving, but no other links aside from that. Two weeks to sign a GK, maybe a RB on loan, a midfielder and a couple of wide players - hopefully they’ll have a bit of pace about them to offer us something different.
-
BBD is a weird one. Not once in a Saints shirt has he looked even vaguely competent, he doesn’t strike me as a confident player either, someone to grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Also, he just isn’t a winger, he might think he is, but he just isn’t. He hardly qualifies as a footballer from what we’ve seen; so I’m fascinated to know what WS thinks of him, or whether he is one of those players that wants out etc.
-
I’m predicting a win based on how poor Ipswich were against Birmingham, losing in the cup midweek and losing now arguably their three most influential players in Delap, Morsey and Hutchinson.
-
You’re saying never, I said in years 🤨
-
Mark Chapman is probably the best out there currently. David Prutton could go far, but unfortunately he isn’t a big enough name for Sky to have hosting the Premier League. Half expect them to call on Joey Barton ahead of David Prutton. 😂
-
As crap as Alex McCarthy is I’d rather we got a couple of wingers and a midfielder in as a matter of urgency.
-
I find it baffling that Bella-Kotchap is still a Southampton player after all these years. Then I remember his attitude, and his inability to play football or be physical, and then I realise why no one would take him. 🤣
-
Yes, responding to another poster about a Sky pundit and talking about the old days is very weird 🤷🏻♂️🙄
-
This entirely. There’s more to life than watching wealthy former footballers of varying ability discuss the same topics and teams over and over again.
-
What a weird thing to say 😂

I would be fixated to the TV for the whole of Saturday afternoon. Soccer Saturday, flicking between that and the BT lunchtime game. The Premier League is just extremely boring now. It’s tedious. And unfortunately the public lap up all the shit that is shelled out by Sky. They make it all a big drama, entertainment, must-watch etc. But it’s the same thing over and over again. This is probably the easiest it has been to do accumulators in years.
-
Because it was like that for probably the last decade? I’m assuming over one summer and a couple of matches it hasn’t changed that. Your response would imply it hasn’t 😅
-
Our squad does look stronger by the game, and we haven’t even played particularly well. No one is lighting up the league, or certainly no one you’d have expected to.
-
Sky is terrible. I’m amazed it’s not discussed in the media more. Gary Neville talks over the same stuff year after year about Man United, he’s not wrong, but it’s beyond boring now. Jamie Carragher, Liverpool through and through, clear and obvious, will be the first to jump to their defence but be the first to attack another team even if Liverpool did the same thing. He fawns over the same shit. Salah could score a tap in and score one goal all season and Haaland could score a goal a game and at the end of the season he’d still pick Salah because of his “technique” or “composure”. Jamie Redknapp, how is he employed? I mean seriously? I say that with no bias, he just talks bollocks. The Soccer Saturday pundits are no better. I’ve seen journos produce better tactical insight. I’m so glad I don’t watch the Premier League anymore.
