Imagine the predicament: - Tonda six month ban - club look ridiculous - Do they then stick with Tonda for when he comes back? - SR look further ridiculous appointing Lallana/Garner to management positions - Alienate the fanbase to point of no return with no established manager - Do players respond and play well? Or does the season effectively tank? - If the players play well under interim manager, what happens to Tonda? - If we’re serious about promotion does the club immediately cut ties with him, making them look further stupid after the summer? - Who do the club go for realistically? So many situations will arise regardless of the outcome.

If there was to be a six month plus ban then the Southampton hierarchy will look utterly ridiculous in all their decision making. You can’t function on an interim manager for over half a season when you’re looking to get promoted. It would also make them look more stupid and naive having backed him in the transfer market.

He was always an average player, but it’s easier to look incredible when most of your teammates are awful. Tyler Dibling was exactly the same in that season. Some flair but not much more.

Anything for than a two-three month ban messes up a lot of things. We’d have to replace him if we are serious about promotion. But you have to trust there is a legitimate plan in place and not just Ben Garner or Adam Lallana standing in. What a shitshow that would be. With the likes of Matt Le Tissier close to the board you would hope be saying “don’t pull a fast one on the fans”.

You’re forgetting a suspended transfer ban for Chelsea and another Watford managerial appointment. Tut tut 😅

I don’t see the club sticking with Tonda if he’s given a six month ban. But I do see them sticking with Ben Garner which absolutely terrifies me.

Just read the interview in detail. It’s not the worst piece ever written, you just have to trust that Parsons, the lawyers and the board have got their facts correct and laid everything out. The club and the fans have been punished enough. To give a lengthy ban would be to then hinder the club further when damage has already been done.

If they’re reading an interview Tuesday then surely the outcome will be delivered beforehand? Was suggested early Sunday morning that it would be end of the week an outcome would be delivered.

On the back of debate on the other thread with @bpsaint EA making FIFA somewhat underwhelming decisions or only going into semi-detail for non-big clubs. At St Mary’s the benches are the wrong way around, away fans in the wrong place, one thing that’s now correct (of the clubs own doing) is they shootnin the right direction in each half. No third kit. Again. Made playing Saints v Sheffield United in last seasons game was mega kit clashes given theirs was stripes or plain white away shirt. 😢 Only upside is in reading more positive stuff for Career Mode this season.

Weirdly this could come under the “annoyed” thread too, but when the new FIFA (FC) game comes out. The refresh and the hype is always good to watch and then a week into playing it you realise how bugged it is.
