There’s loads of British players abroad that would probably play for Saints too. The club is more appealing to some than we probably think, hopefully with the right manager it will appeal more.
-
Johansson (Stoke) Woodman (out of contract Preston) Lamptey (out of contract Brighton) or Aarons (Bournemouth) Burrows (Sheffield United) Mumba (Plymouth) Neil (Sunderland) Sainz (Norwich) Sargent (Norwich) Rak-Sakyi (Crystal Palace) Ferguson (Brighton) There’s some decent players out there going out of contract that could be useful. Also there’s some that could be available on loan or for a smaller fee. I’m sure we won’t be poaching from potential promotion rivals but definitely on the lower end of the Championship or fringe Premier League they’ll be a few that appeal.

I’d be pretty confident in Taylor leaving, that said I think he’d be an effective left-sided CB. He’s not had a great experience with the club.

There are some miserable posters on here. 😂 Anyone think it might be a good idea to just get behind the manager, be a bit excited. You can’t fault Dragan since he took back some control and ushered people to the sides. New technical director. New scouts and scouting network being built. No needless overspending midway through last season. Identity of how the TD sees the squad playing. Helps narrow down managerial appointments and players signings. Confirmed to be having a clear out of the deadwood - and there’s a lot of it! There seems to be a plan happening.
-
Make it a point per million you’re overspent.
-
Tottenham to be knocked out the first stage of the CL next season. Man United to overspend on shite and still somehow evade FFP regulations.
-
I Will let you know if I hear anything 😆

The deal is Still very much on. 👍🏻
-
Leicester could’ve done with a manager like Steve Cooper. Someone that can operate on a tight budget and knows how to get teams out of the Championship. Haha! 😂
-
I’ve some on social media saying “well that’s Downes gone”, “well that’s Stephens gone” etc In a nutshell, is that a bad thing? I also doubt they’re spending any money this window. 🤣
-
Can’t believe I forgot to add RM to Leicester 🤣
-
Russell Martin going to Leicester was entirely predictable
-
Don’t entirely disagree with the point. But equally I think Will Still is the kind of manager where if he went to another club you’d be thinking “smart move”. It looks like we’re getting him, time to back him. Ultimately the manager will fail with these players still at the club, I’d be more concerned with transfers.

Has anyone checked in on DT? Is he still upset we didn’t pay up £3m for Danny Rohl - the coach who seemingly wasn’t interested?
-
Shame
-
But arguing over £3m for Danny Rohl isn’t that big a deal. I’m not saying he’s bad, but he’s certainly not as good as some make out. Plenty of managers out there, as long as they’re the right one for us to push for the title I’m not bothered.

Saints 1-2 Arsenal - Thank F**k it’s All Over Thread

Love the title 😂 Anything under three conceded is phenomenal. Under five is annoying. Under seven is a shame. But I think it’ll be 3-1 to Arsenal. Ross Stewart tap in. -
Great listen as always. Totally agree with them. I’m more in favour of Will Still than Danny Rohl, I have been over the last week or so. Danny Rohl strikes me as someone who would jump at the opportunity of somewhere better. Will Still strikes me as long term thinking, grow with the club, work with the players and coach. I could see him linking up with Spors quite well. As for those saying he’s never played the game, he’s clearly tactically aware more than others. He strikes me as the kind of manager you could take or leave, but if he ended up at say Leicester or Sunderland you’d be going “Hmmm, smart appointment”.
-
I remember reading a Swansea fan two years ago say that Russell Martin football would be a bit slow and take five or six games to come together, and then it will click. You can’t argue, on that occasion it did. If we could have the same insight into Will Still I’m all for it.
-
Have you ever listened to a Will Still interview? Or read or watched his tactics? He’s no different to any other manager out there. It’s a risk, but weirdly refreshing, young hungry British manager with one hell of an opportunity. I couldn’t care less what his background is as long as the results come. There is no guarantee we get better results with an established coach. (See Ivan Juric).
-
Anyone listen to Sean Dyche’s interview recently. Talks sense, not a favourable style of play but it would be good to see even an ounce of physicality from our players.
-
Sounds like Rohl is stalling. That should be a red flag in itself. You want someone that is keen and hungry. Not someone who is umming and arring, and is then going to be potentially downbeat if someone better comes in a month later.
-
We should be gunning to actually win the league, not just be in with a shout.
-
Will Still is growing on me. Danny Rohl strikes me as the first person to leave if a better offer comes about, he hasn’t covered himself in glory with his exit from Sheffield Wednesday, for all the crap that happens in that club.

I think we change it up, let’s have some fun 😂 Player of the season: Most overrated: Biggest let down: Biggest surprise: Most average: Biggest comedy moment: Best signing: Worst signing: Biggest WTF moment: Worst manager: Biggest tactical/managerial error: “Bravest” moment: Best “heavy metal” pass: Go! 😁
