We could come first and it still wouldn’t be enough for DT. 😉 Jokes aside, there really is no excuse for us finishing anything less than second. On paper the best squad, a larger squad with a depth of talent and ability. I think it comes down to who wants it more, what formation we play etc. I would say there is no excuse for not being promoted this season, but early performances aren’t the most exciting. Hoping this will change the more into the season we go.

Aribo would be effective in this league, he was good two years ago, he was surprisingly refreshing when he came into the starting team and I remember most being disappointed when he had to go on international duty at AFCON. Sam Edozie strikes me as Bella-Kotchap MKII, maybe a selfish sense of entitlement, someone who thinks they’re bigger than they are. I could be wrong but that’s the impression given. He clearly doesn’t want to be here.

Started playing FM24 a few days ago, started a new save with Southampton, so far too by 15 points, still with about twenty games left mind so could still turn very Saintsy in that time. FM is a game I can play for a long time, and then I’ll have a few days off or go on holiday and not play it again for six months. It’s not a game that is worth forking out money for every year. It sounds like the features are significantly different this year to two years ago (the one I’m currently playing), but it still doesn’t warrant that £50 for me; it’s something I’d probably consider next year. I think in the last twenty years I played: Championship Manager 2005, Championship Manager 2007, FM12, FM16, FM18 and FM 24. CM7 was amazing because that was the first time it included National League’s North & South, and my old school teacher played part time for Eastleigh. 😂

There is no excuse for us not finishing top two. It’s very simple.

Probably a 7. A whole lot of changes, hopefully that will make their mark in a positive light. The only underwhelming thing is that players we’ve been looking to ship out for some time, some are either still here or only out on loan. It’s a shame we couldn’t have brought in a few more quid for some of these players, but wages were always going to be the stumbling block.

Now the international break. Just under two weeks to prepare for the must-win-at-all-costs. Hopefully we don’t do the “they’re only fit enough for the bench”, just play them. Too often you see new players make the debut from the bench; Azaz at the weekend I was pleasantly surprised. Imagine lining up against Pompey with the majority of our new signings starting and a four at the back formation.
