From last nights game v Reading!!! 67mins The battle of the Mad Stad Wow, this game has just exploded into life. Jordan Obita has been sent off for Reading, as has Alvaro Gonzalez for Espanyol. It was all started by a really hefty challenge by Obita which lead to an almighty flare-up involving pretty much everyone on the pitch and the substitutes. That wasn't pretty. Things have calmed down now but both teams are down to 10 men. 73mins Friendly? What friendly? The two managers are now going at it. Steve Clarke angrily pointing and shouting at the Espanyol boss after a bad tackle on Sa leaves the striker prone on the turf. The fourth official has to step in. Once that has calmed down, Royals make a change. Stephen Quinn goes off, on comes Hope Akpan. Hope everybody keeps a cool head today. Certainly don't want any silly injuries or suspensions!!! Thegame ended 0-0 ( 1-1 on Red Cards!!)

Any chance of sharing the line up?

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
ericofarabia replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
I think we should buy him just for his name I'm sure we could come up with some incredible songs for him, and end of season fancy dress game could be Thunderbird costumes -
They are playing the mighty Gillingham today .... still 0-0 after an hour. Soe liitle snippets from The Snooze. Pompey in white shirts, white shorts and RED socks ..... oh dear there will be petitions to be signed later at this outrage!!! Gillingham get the game underway at a SPARSE Priestfield, which is bathed in summer sunshine ....... there must be thousands still stuck in traffic jams trying to get to see this match. Rob, I'd expect it to be a busy week in terms of transfer activity! ....... Looks like its spend spend spend time again

The Spanish club, who also play Southampton on Saturday, have named a 23-man squad for their trip to England. Aren't we playing them on Sunday? They'll probably use two different teams each half at each game, a bit like our 2 different line ups for the 2 45 min games at Salzburg.

I was going to look at The PFC X1 line up to see how strong the team was, then it dawned on me I that don't actually know the name of a single player in their star studded squad Mind The Gap Please.

Amazed at the amount of people writing off Clasie already. He's been at the club just over two weeks!! He has only had 2 starts in a team that has several other new players to bed in as well. Take a look at the adulation he received from the Feyenoord fans. You don't get that sort off reception by being a pretty average player. It must have been a whirlwind two weeks for him, contract/transfer talks, on tour with Saints, sorting out accomodation etc. All of this whilst his wife was about to give birth. Anybody who has changed jobs, moved house or had a baby will know the stress involved - to experience all 3 in a fortnight and be expected to play as well as Morgan after 2 starts is asking a bit too much. Glad to see a few people, having watched replays of the game, have admitted to seeing what he does when not on the ball, his positioning and his eye for a pass which they missed watching it live. Give the guy a chance. He isn't a flambouyant player but will be a very important cog in the team ... for sure. Remember last season how Pelle got slagged off after 1 game and Mane was being compared to Ali Dia?

LMFAO FLYING HIGH TONIGHT YOU REBEL YOU Some cracking replies .... well done lads

Thanks for the heads up on Vejinovic .... we'll be over next summer with a cheque Hope you are right about the score .. would be great to go over to Arnhem without any pressure for both the players and the fans alike and be able to enjoy the experience!! Having said that ..... 3 words of warning ...... Watford and Tranmere:scared: Those of us old enough may well still remember going to 2nd tier Watford for the away leg 4-0 up and managed to lose 7-1, even though we had the likes of Channon, Charlie George, Steve Moran, Nick Holmes, Stevie Williams, Dave Watson and Chris Nicholl playing. At least we took the game to extra time via an own goal More recently the FA Cup replay at 3rd tier Tranmere ..... they only needed less than 45 mins to overhaul our 3-0 halftime advantage and run out 4-3 winners The only "Magic of The Cup" I want to see is some quality goals scored by us!

Really enjoyed it, thanks for taking the time. I was nearly put off when the 1st thing that came into view was the 50/50 scarf, but ll give you some leeway on this one, but don't ever do it with an EPL team!! Lets hope The Great Saints/Dutch Love-In continues tomorrow in our fair city, so that those who've purchased (and hopefully actually get) tickets in the home section in Arnhem are allowed to see the game without any hassle.

Anybody thinking of using The Channel Crossing had better plan to arrive early. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-33662489 Seems to be an ongoing daily headache whether it be Migrants or Striking Froggies or Power Cuts. Good Luck.

Looking quite likely that it will be pretty close to a sell out, just wonder if the announcement that it is BT Sport may slow down the rate at which they are being snapped up though. One thing for sure, is that the club have got it right in lowering the entrance fee substantially. Similar to The FA Cup 3rd last season v Ipswich, ok them taking up their full allocation helped, but I don't think many people expected that match to sell out and quite a few people, me included nearly got caught out!! Much better to have a full ground, than a half empty stadium.
-
Don't worry - it's hard to get excited and produce an incredible atmosphere for a friendly match, especially as your side gave you little to cheer!! The reception you gave to Pelle and Classie ( and Koeman of course) was truly magnificent. Koeman also said it made it easier for us having your fans being receptive towards us, which obviously would have been very different in a competitive match!! Good to see that it only stretched so far, and poor old Stekelenberg had to pay the price for being ex Ajax

Spare a thought for this dear old lady and her picturesque short cut home!!

1/ Surely they could negotiate with the council for a % of the 30 million quid or whatever revenue they earn every home game? 2/ Works out perfectly as nobody would want to buy them anyway!! 3/ But look on the brightside, after each Saturday game you can pop into Tesco's and pick up a bargain or two in the 5 o'. clock about to expire, bargain basket. Jealous scummah, you just don't get it.

Total respect to Feyenoord and their Fans. It was only a friendly, yet 50000 turned up to welcome back players we have poached from them, and chief poacher Koeman. They really showed their appreciation for what they did during their time at their club. There is a great video on Southampton FC Twitter which I can't figure out how to put on here (hopefully somebody can) showing pre match presentations to Pelle and Classie. Truly remarkable the reception they both got. I Don't think any of our escapees from over the last 2 seasons with the exception of SRL would have been awarded such a reception. Sounded like The Saints Fans were having a grand old time in the stands .... DISCO .... Let's all have a party ...

A very successful tour of Holland, P3 W3 F16 A0. Seem to have been made very welcome by all of the hosts and fans. What a bonus to have been able to see all the matches on line!! Sounded like the Saints Fans were really enjoying themselves tonight. Here's hoping our next visit back in Holland is as enjoyable.
