I am not sure..surely Austin didn't want to play out wide? Gabbi and Austins heat maps would be good to see? I may be wrong but Gabbi seems to be playing more central but Austin ( I always assumed due to tactics rather than his decision) often would be out wide..and he isn't that type. I haven't spotted Gabbi interchanging with the other two like Austin seemed to have to... Gabbi isn't going to play every game next year so we need someone else to play that role on occasions?

Who Do We Choose To Ship Out This Summer?

I think he is excellent. The occasion error (name me a player who hasn't done them?) is not his normal game. He is tidy and works his socks off for the team. Be nice if he worked on his finishing though! :-) -
Do you think that's what it is? Was he even on the pitch for two of the goals at Sunderland? And not sure those yesterday were much to do with him but more Redmond's and Tadics movement?

Who Do We Choose To Ship Out This Summer?

I was hoping for a summer of building on what we have rather than wholesale changes, however it seems that our fans want to see an overall of RK proportions! I am sure we wouldn't replace all those players with significantly higher quality. So for me maybe just Martina and maybe J rod if he really is as unhappy as is rumoured. We need at least one CB ( dependant on Caceras and VVD). Losing Austin would mean we need another striker? What happen when Gabbi is out if J rod has gone? The midfield is alright IMO. I'd keep Forster I think he is just having a bad spell..although I do have my suspicions we already bought his replacement? -
I think someone said back in the 60's! It's amazing that others have also found their shooting boots now Gabbi has arrived..not complaining, long may it continue! Hopefully we will start scoring a few per game at home too...and the next home game would be the perfect game to score 4!
-
He isn't doing what I wanted as he would have resigned!
-
O Spot on. Austin was wasted as a striker, he wasn't mobile enough to play the "front three "role and often ended up out wide doing his bit for the team. Austin needed to be played where Gabbi is playing..in the box attacking the ball in. Not sure if it's planned or just that Gabbi doesn't understand the instructions! (Lol) but he is playing much more centrally and making those runs into the box that we were missing before.
-
I would agree with this. He has changed his tactics, his rotation policy and got the team scoring..if he carries on like this I might even join the Puel in camp!
-
O The squad was always good but being under utilised and hence under performing. Hopefully Puel has adapted and learnt! Excellent result well done Claude! Hopefully come April he will occasionally play the strongest team and results will continue to be good!
-
April isn't an issue at present either. The only reason it is six games is we play on the first of the month and very nearly the last day of the month. At present we only have ONE mid week game scheduled!
-
That's not league games though is it? For example One of Boro's is in the cup so as I said, if we were in the cups we would have more games?
-
Could we not play a team just good enough to stay up in the league and just go for both the cups with our first team? I wouldn't mind that as a strategy and winning trophies regularily would grow the brand more than finishing mid table would? I understand the risk of the drop when the cut comes but if there are less teams it won't be long before we take our turn and go down anyway?
-
Not sure who is moaning about going out of the cup? My point is we chose to not even try to progress and yet now moan we haven't got a fixture? We are only missing one game as our planned opponents are still in the cup. Lots of other teams are in the same boat and haven't got a game that weekend..who ever was playing Arsenal, Man City Chelsea and Spurs won't be playing either. The most league games played this month is three because of the international break, I assume, so I am not sure why the fixtures are an issue just for us? It's the way the league is structured.
-
I take it you are still undecided on the Puel vote then? Lol
-
I can't be bothered to look either but I know Palace, Sunderland, Middlesbro, Watford, Man U, Spurs, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea will probably all play only two league games this month. There might be others but as I said I am not looking them up. At MOST we will have 1 extra league game to play than any of them them in April as they will all have at least one fixture to catch up on. Man Utd will have the same number of league games to play plus two Europa league games plus an FA Cup quarter final.
-
It was worse by 24 hours lol. It's one of them myths that if you say it enough it becomes fact! I am not a fan of Puel but don't knock his interview technique etc etc but I don't think he should be making excuses for the team to perform poorly based on a fixture list which is pretty much the same for everyone. I agree with some stuff, I disagree with some stuff. I support the players on a match day..I have never boo'd one of our players or our team. So does me disagreeing with our Lord and masters make me thick as pig ****? If so guilty as charged. I don't mind I have been called worse...
-
Klopp didn't realise there was no winter break so tbf he may not have known!
-
But we are not special... Liverpool played three in six days and everyone else played 3 in 7 or something...as we played 3 in 5 we would have had a longer break leading into it or out of it..there's not a lot in it.. So yes we were slightly worse but not much and we had the days back somewhere else. To say we are hard done by is the mental bit. And let me know how many games Bournemouth have this month or any other team? They are not playing 5 or 6 games you know? And I suspect Man U, arsenal man city and spurs will have considerably more games in April and May than us... That's the league and the price for success..if we can't handle it then we are better off going out of the cups early and avoiding Europe.
-
Pick another Man U player then..or a lincoln one or a man city one or a Leicester one or a Spurs one who does run around then?
-
It hasn't escaped me...however it's the same for a number of sides? Hardly any play next week? Why are we so special that we can't cope with the fixture list when everyone else can? That's the league..i think the same of Klopp and his moaning about no winter break...if you don't like it, go and manage in Germany.
-
He (or reed) said earlier in the season that they had no time to coach players as we had too many games. We may have played in a day less than others over Christmas but at other times we have had more of a break. Man U played 3 or 4 games extra before the final. This month we are missing ONE game. It's hardly unfair compared to the others is it?
-
Lol..are you serious? That team had absolutely no hope of winning that game and we all (including him) knew it. There are no stats to back up we have played more..I bra has played more at 35 than any of our players I reckon. Deli alli has played more games than any of our players... FIFA The Lincoln players have probably played more than any of our players this season! We miss one game from the other premier league teams...Man U at home because they are still in the cup. We missed one for the cup final but still played a game. We didn't play before the cup final as it was the FA cup round of games. Spurs Man Utd man city arsenal Leicester have continued to play lots of games as they stayed in Europe. Arsenal Spurs man Utd man city continue to play extra as they are still in the FA cup. Luckily for Puel he won't need to worry about extra games next season as we don't have Europe to worry about. It does annoy me that the club want Europe then moan about the extra games, if we want success then that's the price, don't moan about it just get on with it.
-
He's talking Rubbish it's no worse than other teams. The reason we aren't playing is that he choose to go out of the cup. What did he think would happen?
-
Earlier in the season wasn't he moaning that he had no time to coach the team?
