  1. Stick to football, mush. This 900 quid lappy makes the price equivalent Macbook look like a pocket calculator. http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/laptops/389857/chillblast-defiant-2-mini
  2. Nah, it's because for all the success stories, there are tons of people left on the shítheap or suicided out of existence. Not a bad place to be if you've a bit of motivation and/or talent, but speaking personally, there are far better places for me to ply my trade if standard of living was my largest concern.
  3. We agree. I think the ten year period leading up to 9/11, when to the untrained eye, it looked like the British government was welcoming every Islamic extremist group going, is very suspicious. The French were fúcking furious when they realised that the Paris Metro bombing had been planned in "Londonistan". What was that all about?
  4. Happiness is subjective, but even so, most of the studies that are out there don't have the UK or US anywhere near the top 10. The gongs tend to go to small, well-managed countries that prioritise the affairs of their citizens. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/picturegalleries/10302485/The-worlds-happiest-countries.html?frame=2668662 http://www.forbes.com/sites/christopherhelman/2013/10/29/the-worlds-happiest-and-saddest-countries-2013/

  6. It's just as dangerous to present extremes as the norm, something reflected in every day life. Technically, a myriad of truly appalling fates could meet us at any time, yet we carry on with the assumption that it won't happen, because in most cases that it is true. It was evident from the start that the real motives of multiculturalism were never benevolent; it was about creating divide and rule and implementing a strategy of tension. Works to a degree, especially among the older generation that have genuinely seen massive social change due to immigration. I'm sure that the recent "worst of Islam" highlights from latest bogeymen ISIS will drum up a few younger recruits. Hopefully though, the majority will realise they are being played.
  7. I suppose if you present two very extreme and well-publicised examples as representative of the entire immigration experience, then yeah, it looks fúcking terrible.
  8. Honest Trailer : Game of Thrones. Lots of spoilers, but top quality for those that watch the show
  9. Hi, er, whelk, is it? Just checked your profile to get a handle on your posting style. I can see why you'd think that Carry on; I'll try to look suitably wounded for the rest of the day. (Everyone else - check out whelk's posts)
  10. Some cracking photos there. I lived on Malmesbury Road for a couple of years in the early 90s. I used to walk through the Dell car park on every walk into town. Sometimes, there would be a youth game in progress; exit gates were normally open from half time onwards, so you could just walk in for nowt. Used to get in for £3 at "Boys" rate. Once it went all seater, only really went to nomark cup games at the Dell and away games elsewhere.
  11. I see that Peter Capaldi is going to be doing the Doctor with his Glaswegian brogue. Devolution, free Uni and a fkn Time Lord! What more do these people want?
  12. Bearsy reckons I'm more of a díck than a c**t. It's a fair assessment.
  13. Sounds like you're getting a little jipped, but chasing this dude ain't worth the bother. It's cruise control, my good man! Do you need it that much? My motor's got it, and I barely use it - even when motorway driving. If it were me, I'd just get it checked when it's serviced.
  14. Can't take anything for granted with this one. WBA are often cited as a winnable fixture, but we came unstuck two years ago under NA's reign. My first game as a STH
  15. History's Chapel End Charlie recommends the Daily Mail. "You couldn't make it up!"
  16. Yeah, it really is a stormer; so much going on for a three piece. Very much an acquired taste though, took ages to click. I really love the order-to-disorder aspect of it, this track perhaps illustrating it best. [video=youtube_share;qOM107PIxV8]
  17. Aw mate, if hypocrisy is your particular bug bear, I think you're going to have serious trouble living on Planet Earth, not to mention any serious re-read of some of your previous posts. I'm with Jack Dee on the matter. Hypocrisy comes in handy. I need to maintain nothing in relation to the "deafening silence we perceive from the left". As we speak, Western governments are mobilising operational and military support to assist the Kurdish in the region. What more would you have us do, Charlie? The West is already sending more aid to those fighting IS than it has ever sent to the Palestinians. What can be done that isn't already being done? What would a mass protest of the left actually achieve in material relief for those affected? Iraq is being handled. http://www.stopwar.org.uk/news/the-tale-of-two-sieges-the-yazidi-one-in-iraq-that-wasn-t-and-the-one-in-gaza-that-is#.U_Jod_ldXcg I think you lack the basic tools to talk with any authority on history. None of your input in this thread is sourced, most of your opinions are regurgitated spew from right wing blogs, unpleasant - but a piece of píss to clean up. I've climbed down plenty of times in my time, Charlie - and have been humble enough when's that's happened. I've got no suspicions at all. The thread tells its own tale, and I'm not going to editorialise it further, except to say that I don't think potentially vicious stuff like this (I'd have to care, etc.) is the slam-dunk you hope it is.
  18. HG quota strict for CL, bear
  19. I've got two left feet, run about like an unstable penguin and at speed, have the motor control of a man having an apparent seizure, largely because that tends to happen at speed. Might come down to cheer you on though.
  20. See also: any away game at a big club. I've pointed the quietness out to the locals, but they say "it's only Southampton" in return. Think I preferred it when we were big time charlies in the lower leagues. Hate-lined faces in Oldham were much tastier than the prawn-flavoured indifference of the big club fan. Not even a new thing either. I remember going to Old Trafford over a decade ago and it being whisper quiet apart from the goals. Called the Theatre of Dreams because their fans are all asleep. "Would sir be so kind as to awaken me when we win our next trophy?" "Absolutely, old bean!" etc, etc.

  24. That's always amused me. Stick a little -ry on the end of that and it's fine, even though you still make the same phonetic sound.
