This has been a very interesting debate. I like Verbal's point so much that I'd like to expand on it. When it comes to hating Britain, and specifically Britons, the rabid right wing can't be beat. I don't know if Thatcher actually hated the North, but she was leader of the country when the North was being shut down, simultaneously demonising the poor she helped to create. Similarly, I'm not sure whether she hated Scotland, but she decided to trial the poll tax there first. Onto some of our right wing crew on here. When you rail against scroungers, certain parts of the country, etc, it's not that much of a stretch to say that you hate Britain too, or at least parts of it. Verbal is bang on when he talks of the Mail hating Britain. What other newspaper demonises the community it is supposed to serve as frequently? Of course, the mistake I've intentionally made is assuming that the Mail is serving the whole country. It isn't. It's a paper written by c*nts for c*nts. Lest anyone think I'm being hypocritical, let me sincerely state that I don't hate c*nts, but it is a shame that their insecurities, whattabouterries and envy cast such a big shadow over British life.

Pretty much the only author that could temporarily turn me into a right-wing militaristic tub-thumper. Most stuff he wrote on his own was ace. Collaborations, not so much. Jack Ryan was a great invention. Would love to see some remakes with one guy playing him, and in chronological order.

I'm sure I've written this oodles of times before, but in his book The English, Jeremy Paxman argues that a defining characteristic of being English is not giving a toss about your Englishness. He also argues that fascism never took root in this country because collectively, we could never muster the sort of fervent nationalism that normally comes part and parcel with such ideologies. I paraphrase of course, but I'm also insinuating that Barry Sanchez is online searching for jackboots.

I had to VPN into the UK to watch the final episode on Netflix. Find myself in agreement with many of the press reviews. Great ending, Didn't feel jipped or cheated. Top to see Walt use his calculating noggin one more time.

Top four this season is unrealistic once injuries take their toll. On this trajectory though (new academy graduates plus solid acquisitions), I think it might be possible the season after next. The academy may be the hammer to smash through the glass ceiling. Exciting times regardless.

It's definitely my favourite footy podcast. It does to through the occasional period of low quality, but is excellent at its best. The ol' family has been in alignment of opinion lately. After collectively agreeing that Pepper Potts is an ungrateful nagger in Iron Man 3, we also unanimously came to a few conclusions about Robert Webb today. 1) He is never funny on his own. 2) He has an annoying voice. 3) He does too many advert voice overs with his annoying voice. Admittedly, the girls have not seen Peep Show, which he is very good in. Does it save him?

What would be the fun of that? As someone who listened to their podcast during our ascent up the leagues, that is infinitely more coverage than we used to get. They will most likely get done up in the referendum. There are rules that have to be obeyed during elections, such as not telling f*cking whoppers, that don't apply during referenda.
