  1. He did say that, I recall him doing so, wasn’t that was before the new owners came in? I’m not sure it makes sense other than when that’s all you have at your disposal, which is the situation we found ourselves in last season. I was hoping we could be more than a development academy for the big boys under the new ownership. I don’t mind the odd loan, a few cheaper prospects, but I do hope we buy some established talent as well, players, if not from the premier league, come from equivalent leagues where they shouldn’t take too long to get going.
  2. The Krankies.
  3. I'm not saying it is a definite, but I wouldn't write it off either. The difference here is the upturn coincided with the new management regime and signing a number of better players. Let's hope it doesn't "work like that" in our case.
  4. Why not, they averaged around 2 points a game for the second half of last season, they will presumably be stronger this season? If they took that form through the whole season they would have finished 3rd.
  5. Arsenal wouldn’t let him
  6. What based on what? I stated it was my non expert opinion, it doesn’t need a basis. Besides, It wouldn’t be the first time a player had been bought back to soon and suffered an injury, either a worsening of the original condition or a related injury caused by compensation for the original injury.
  7. He had an injury prior to his “injury”, minuscus tendon, my non expert opinion at the time was that he was rushed back.
  8. There was a bit in the middle where we only had 3 from 18 as well.
  9. He's always been a shining example, he's really hard, not a carbon copy of any of our other players, many facets to his game. I hope he can cut it at this level. looks like a real jewel.
  10. I hope we get him, he seemed to fit in well here and should continue to improve
  11. I don’t think he’s shit at all, it’s early days in an injury ravaged career, he’s shown signs of being a good player, just my opinion.
  12. I always thought there was sum ting wong about that.
  13. Coutinho, inexplicably chose Liverpool over us
  14. Bang average, 5/10, bad attitude, big ego, wouldn't fit Ralphs system...
  15. He's a very good footballer technically and does like to get stuck in. His lack of pace stops him being a great player, IMO. MAybe he would be better sitting behind the strikers and threading balls rather than coming in from wide?
  16. You've put doubt in my mind now, he did have a beer gut and was driving a Transit tipper, maybe it wasn't him?
  17. I don't see him making an impact coming of the bench, he needs to move on his sake and ours.
  18. That fits, I've just seen just seen Ronaldo at Tesco Express in Millbrook, buying 20 Silk Cut, 2 scotch eggs, sausage role and a can of Monster.
  19. I’d say evolution should equal improvement, so there is the first inaccuracy.
  20. Extremely shoddy work, words cannot express how disappointed I am, shooting from the hip like that. Frankly I'm appalled.
  21. I don't think he will either, but all I am saying I don't want us to do badly just to be justified in my opinion of him
  22. I'm not his biggest fan true, but what I'm actually desperate for is a big improvement, if he is the man to deliver it then I'll be more than OK with it.
  23. SOUTHAMPTON boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is favourite to be the first managerial casualty of the 2022-23 Premier League season. That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who've updated their 'Next Manager' market ahead of the new campaign, which begins on August 5th. 1 Ralph Hasenhuttl is favourite to be the first Premier League manager to leaveCredit: GETTY BETFAIR: GET £30 IN FREE BETS* Hasenhuttl, 54, replaced Mark Hughes in December 2018 but has never secured a top-half finish during his tenure. Saints finished 15th last year, winning just nine games -- only relegated trio Norwich, Watford and Burnley won fewer. They drew on 13 occasions, and lost 16 times with the fourth worst goal difference in the division (-24). Bookies Betfair expect Southampton to have a difficult season after pricing them at 3/1 to be relegated.
  24. Then you got scouted by Pompey
  25. You misunderstand the fundamental saints fan psychology in these times, to be a Saints legend you must fulfil one or more of the following criteria:- a) Leave the club having never played, or hardly ever played for the first team b) Do not sign for the club despite a high degree of potential rumours / fantasising / unfounded speculation c) Be a Saints transfer target no one had ever heard of before we expressed an interest (However, the SWF intelligence will swear blind they have been avidly following his career to date). It's far easier to lose legendary status, this can be achieved in the following ways:- a) age and injuries catch up (he was never any good) b) you see your future somewhere else you perceive as up the food chain c) having your own views on things d) General point - Just by playing for Saints = he is the the worst player evva' and is stealing a living in the premier league
