I admit to being a bit agricultural tactically, but, when we play a team that is around our level, at home, why are we so worried about nullifying them and in the process nullifying ourselves? I'd have happily taken the risk with Peraud, I think he may have created a goal or two had he had the 3 or more chances to whip a ball in that KWP had and fluffed, given he is on hs wrong foot. It didn't have to be Djneppo in front of him, there is Diallo as an extra midfield option, there is Tella, there are probably other combos, or, there is Redmond who was picked. Why didn't we let Wolves worry about us?

A better manager? You wouldn’t have to be that exceptional a manager to play the best players in their best positions, and make the tight tactical and personnel changes when required. He massively over complicates things.

Knowing schizophrenic Saints we’ll probably do ok.

Ralph said something before that game about his application, then he had the good cameo against West Ham, apparently (according to Dan Sheldon), he looked poor against Sheffield United reserves last week.

If the vibes coming from Ralph are to be believed it sounds as though Broja doesn't give a crap about being here. (this weeks Total Saints Podcast)

We were absolutely toothless.

That may hint at a bigger problem, you see it with other teams and across all sports, they can get themselves up for rivals and big games but can't manage it consistently. I do wander what the players think of Ralph, the bizarre team selections, tactics and substitutions cannot be lost on them. I know Bertrand had a bit of a swipe when he left, didn't Ings hint at something also?

Win a cup? Did you see us against Leicester?

It’s really harsh to be down on our forwards, we don’t give them much of a chance, our approach play and final balls are terrible. The players we have that can cause problems going forward didn’t even start yesterday, Tella, Peraud (good crosses) and Djneppo. I think they both would be ok if the midfield was functioning

Right county 😉

Because this was considered a winnable game, it’s great taking points from City and Utd, but it’s games like these we have to pick up 3 points from. It was a game there for the taking, but the set up was wrong. Had we had a left footed left back that alone could have changed the whole outcome. Consider KWP RB, Peraud LB (radical thinking), and either Tella or Livramento instead of Redmond or Mo or both? We now have Chelsea, so potentially we will have netted 4 points from 21 available. Leeds and Burnley both have winnable games next week so unless we get a freak result against Chelsea then we could be in the bottom 3. Then there will be the inevitable draining of confidence. Forgive me for feeling a gloomy. Regarding the bigger picture question, the picture would have looked a lot different had we one today, I may have felt we were making progress, now it feels like a continuation of last season’s form.

It’s all them rainbows affecting things

Shit is the norm, it doesn’t just “happen”. 5 wins in 2021
-
It’s not one performance though, it’s dozens, this has been going on since last Christmas, the good performances are the exceptions.

The only team that is definitely worse than us is Norwich. The others are at least as good. Leeds will come back.

Be handy if we started the right players

What about Salisu? He could have redeemed the situation

The result of hardly ever winning
