I think it was Alfie House who said exactly that. Apparently we had his management and training down to a tee. I also don’t think he had much of a pre season. Recipe for disaster.

I think he’ll have to be more than back up, Larin is no spring chicken and has international duties too. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him missing chunks of the season. I think we needed better, although maybe he will be “better” in time, I just can’t see it at the moment.

You are correct in describing that as the existing situation, and presumably you are ok with it from your fatalistic response. My issue is that there is now no possibility of any who is not already comfortably sitting at the top of getting there, and is getting more difficult all of the time. It doesn’t any longer seem possible for a well run club to achieve very much at all, take our very own club. Under Lawrie McMenemy we one an fa cup, signed Kevin Keegan, signed a host of other internationals, under Chris Nichol we finished second behind Liverpool. At various times we had players of such I high calibre the calibre of which we will never see again. What I am saying it’s no longer possible for a well run club, with a strong academy, who gets everything right to achieve much at all, because now it’s only about money.

Maybe it’s about time our football was run like American football or Australian rules football, salary caps, squad caps, home grown player requirements and so on, the premier league is now beyond ridiculous, the rich have got so much richer and the ladder has been well and truly pulled up. Where there are such huge sums of money there will always be corruption.

What percentage of City fans are true, lifelong City fans? They must have a core of die hards but their fan base seems to be dominated by tourists and glory hunters?

My sources tell me, so I understand, that I’ve been lead to believe, we will be installed into the premier league with immediate effect, carrying forward our current points total plus the four deducted points being reinstated.
