Here’s a thought, the first part of the season, when he was “poor” we were playing the god forsaken 5 / 3 at the back under the latest in a succession of dreadful managers.

This has the feel of a post relegation season, with vultures circling for our best talent. Yes yes, I know everyone one has their price blah blah. But this is a consequence of failing to secure an immediate return to the prem. Hopefully Spors &co have suitable replacements lined up.

I was responding to a question. It’s not my intention to bring other supporters around to my way of thinking. As I said in the first post, I am normally ridiculously And unrealistically over optimistic.

A few things. Last season was exceptional, the second half anyway, it will be a big ask to continue that. We didn’t have bad injuries to key players. I think Ross and Shea were far more important than is being generally recognised. As for replacing Stewart, I assume that’s what you mean, we’ll have to wait and see how that works out. The top end of the league is more competitive we are starting on minus 4 if any of our best players leave it could change things. Watford are a horrible team to play, especially in their turf. I wouldn’t describe myself as pessimistic, just guarded.

Agreed It probably is, but Alfie could have done a better job in shutting it down in my opinion.

Not never, but statistically a team with the benefit of parachute payments is iro 3 x more likely to gain promotion.

How does that make me a fool, hoping one of our best players will stay? There has barely been any mention of THB going, there has been plenty of mention of him staying? I would prefer it that, as one of our best players, he stays. We have just lost two of our best players, I think promotion this season is already going to be more of a challenge than a lot of people are expecting.

Of course every player has their price, however the Alfie House comment goes against the previous noise that he is really happy here. I and a lot of others inferred that meant another season with us. He would be a big loss.

Normally going into a season I’m unrealistically over optimistic. Not so much this season, I think it’s going to be more of a slog this season. 2-2.

Che did miss a few sitters, scored a few crackers but his greatest attribute for me was his attitude, he played in some poor to terrible Saints sides and never stopped giving everything.
