Back from the game half hour ago. I would say we just shaded the game, but were actually reasonably poor. Sign of a good team though? We were very poor in the first half and not much better at the beginning of the second. The sending off and the penalty was a real turning point and I feel we would probably have lost or drawn the game had the penalty incident not occured. Fonte, Lallana and Barnard were our best three and our most stand out players today. Slightly dissapointed with the noise we made if I'm honest, but to take well over 2,000 up to Nottingham is a bloody good showing and I never expected we'd take as many as that. Good win and a good day.

Away. The whole day is good, visiting new grounds and new places. Most people that travel away tend to be noisier and more likely to stand too. Our away support tends to be pretty good for standing but sometimes, at Sheff Wed for example, 80% were sat. Our home support is still good compared to most other home grounds though.

Savings on awaydays by rail - Oldham for example
Griffo replied to RonManager's topic in Saints Away Supporters
Good example of how much cheaper trains can work out if they're booked in advance, booked up a few tickets for Notts County for only £16 return with young persons/16-25 railcard, the same time trains are now £27.70 and normal return (with railcard) is £42. Spot the savings.. Unfortunately I now have a spare pair of those trains tickets, PM if interested. -
Notts County away - 2nd batch of tickets requested

I have a spare train ticket from St Pancras - Nottingham & also then for the return journey. It is only valid with a young persons/16-25 railcard, but only £16! I also have a spare (junior) match ticket, £6. Face value on both tickets. PM if interested -

Notts County away - 2nd batch of tickets requested

That is true but with Brighton they are a much bigger club than their attendances suggest due to the ****ty stadium and reasonably pricey tickets. -

Looking forward to it. Surprised with how many we're taking. -
He is the best left sided player in the world.

He just ****ed up to gift Derby a goal..

This is what I use. About a 5-10 minute walk from there. Or for free there's the industrial estate the other side of the bridge on the other side of the road, which has also already been mentioned.

I doubt we're going to take near 2000 let alone 3000. We can only take around 1000 to places like Wednesday and Huddersfield and although a shorter journey, it won't make that much of a difference to our numbers.

Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Saints - Post-match reaction thread
Griffo replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
On the way back myself.. What a fantastic day and a fantastic result. Proper away performance that was, quiten the home fans and score on the break when the home fans were getting right on their back. MOM Davis without doubt. Three of his saves today I was sure were going in. Atmosphere in the second half was quality but why would so many boring sods choose to go all the way up to Sheffield to just sit there in silence at the bottom of the stand?
