  1. You might be right, I just stuck some figures out there to come to a total, £200m is a bit less than the amounts I quoted, £150m maybe in total, possibly somewhere in the middle. Regardless of the quality now; a bunch of them have shown some decent quality I.e ABK. I guessed off the assumption that a bang avg prem player costs £20m these days. Depends on demand though of course…
  2. He pops in regularly to my mates cafe, with his family. They say he is one of the nicest blokes you'll meet. He had a load of issues with his diet at the start of this season, but played through it. Can't remember exactly what it was but something like he was having reactions to gluten or something along those lines. He was going to open a cafe alongside Oriel Romeu last year in Winchester somewhere, but that was put to bed when Oriel left. They were really close on and off the pitch, and there is no doubt he's missed him this season. He's also best mates with Fraser, and was pretty pissed at the club when they let him go last year.
  3. Well all we "know" is that SR have said they'll back us next year. We also know that a big bunch of players will be leaving this summer, probably including Lavia (£50m?), JWP (£50m?), Adams (£20m), KWP (£20m), ABK (£20m), Salisu (£25m), plus probably likes of Orsic, DCC, Lyanco, Diallo, Onuachu, (possibly another £25m)? We shouldn't be in a position where we need to rely on the money from Tella. Thats somewhere along the lines of £200m income from transfer sales. Even if it's £150m we still shouldn't need to sell Tella if we don't want him to go and he's not pushing it. He's got a contract until Summer 2025 so maybe it will depend on whether he has any interest signing a new one. He does have a sales price though.
  4. He may or may not be playing for us next year. Just because they want him, doesnt mean he'll go. If they offer us the amount of money we want and he wants to go, then he will go. If they don't offer the money we want, and we're not desperate for it (we have no idea), and we want to keep him, then he will stay at Saints. It's not "madness". It's just business.
  5. 46. We were not very good at all that season lets be honest. No idea how we ended up 8th. 10 teams have already got that this season with 3 games to play. (4 for 11th place Chelsea)
  6. But given how many players we've signed this season, and the amount of money spent some of them were going to be decent. Looking at the below, it's not a surprise we've struggled this season. And us having Adams, Armstrong, Mara, Onuachu as our striking options... Good: Lavia - £12m - No comment needed. Got the world at his feet. Alcaraz - £12m - Class player, gets a bit lost in games, but he's young. Would love him to stay next season ABK - £10m - Good player, heads gone since Ralph left though. Shame as looked class at the start of the season. Should be able to make a profit on him this summer Potential to still be good: Larios - £7m - Long term investment - who knows, not what we needed at the time. Edozie - £8m - Long term investment - not what we needed at the time, could be great next season Mara - £12m - Long term investment, brought in as 4th choice replacing Long. Might be an asset next season in Champ, wouldn't want him first choice though Bree - £1m - Pretty much risk free, replacement for KWP, could be good next season Poor / Stupid / Not what we needed: AMN - Loan - Dreadful player Lis - Free - on loan, one for SR. Bazunu - £12m - Not good enough in prem, Champ might be good for him Orsic - £8m - Has pedigree, doesn't make sense at all, leaving...just weird all around Aribo - £7m - Shite, Champ might be more his level DCC - £8m - Assume on big wages, might not be able to get rid of Onuachu - £18m!!!!! - Absolutely shite, get rid Sulemena - £22m - Big money, small impact. Expect him to be an asset next season if he stays
  7. He could never get to the fitness levels required in the premier league. Had a few decent games for us, and undoubtedly had taltent, but not the level of talent required to replace MS or VW. Most people said at the time he was an unnecessary signing given Harry Reed was coming through. He probably ended up being the reason Reed left.
  8. “Stick your Ted talks up your arse”
  9. He played the likes of Moi and Walcott because they knew the triggers in Ralph’s 4222, and because Moi is reliable defensively over the others. No other reason. Your take on JWP couldn’t be further from the truth,
  10. Clearly Selles doesn’t think he’s up to it. Has he been in any matchday squad since Jones yet? I know he was playing for the B team. He hasn’t looked great from the few times we’ve seen him but might be an asset next season. Didn’t he play a lot on the right of a back 3 for Luton?
  11. Clearly thinks he’s been done over by the club. Don’t like that attitude at all, but clearly something has gone on in the background that we don’t know about. I’ll try and see if my contact at staplewood knows anything about it.
  12. Bazunu Bree Bednarek Lyanco KWP Lavia JWP Stuey Alcaraz Sulemena Adams
  13. So how are we going to carry on Minsk's legacy next season then? This is always an interesting thread.
  14. He didn't in the end, but he definitely did at the start. He was really pissed off that the club chose to give Macca a contract over him, and the club was only ever going to offer 1 of them a contract. He was completely fed up at Saints, and you can't blame him.
  15. They're both appalling at this level.
  16. Should do everything we can to bring in Potter. It's a great opportunity for him to rebuild his career after his awful stint at Chelsea. There will be a managerial merry go round this summer you'd think, as Chelsea, Spurs, Saints, Leeds, Leicester, Bournemouth (maybe), Poss West Ham (Maybe), Forest (Maybe) will probably all be looking for new managers. There are plenty out of work atm: Luis Enrique Zidane Pochettino Conte Villas Boas De Boer Nagalsmann Van Bronkhorst Vitor Pereira Cannavaro Gallardo Low Lage Thorup Rodgers Potter Benitez Gracia Ralph Vieira Bielsa Marsch Struber Sanchez-Flores Garrido Hoefkens Hutter Favre Plus a load of others...
  17. I wouldn't. He needs a new start, we need a new start without him. We need to freshen up mentally more than anything, from the top to the bottom. Benefit of knowing our fate now, is that we have the longest amount of time to prep for the first game of the season.
  18. Got what we've deserved at the end of the day. Some utterly dreadful decisions you could say since Koeman left. The Puel / Pellegrino experiment. The Hughes option in the summer when he should have only been here to keep us up Not being able to really spend under Gao Not really replacing Pelle / Mane / Tadic Spending a fortune on shit centre backs (Hoedt, Vestergaard, Bednarek) and not replacing quality leaders like Fonte. Struggling to create a proper team ethic ever since Koeman left, and slowly getting worse Finally having the ability to spend some money, and spunking it on a load of players who may or may not be good enough, whilst losing a load of players who despite not being great, have kept us up last few years Getting lucky with Broja last season, but not replacing Ings. Or we did, by signing someone who would struggle in League 1 Not signing a striker this season A completely naive board in SR over the last 18 months For all these reasons, it's not a surprise. We have also pretty much been down since Jones came in and we used up a bunch of winnable home games, playing long ball back 5 shite. Like many others have said. Numb to it, and no real sadness. I'm looking forward to being in a league that we can compete in. IMO, there is a real lack of enjoyment just existing to win a few games a season and try get to 35 points. Next season could be really enjoyable depending on how this summer goes.
  19. We also (as far as we know) have an owner who has money, and will financially back the club to a different level that we’ve ever seen before. Add into that the sales of JWP, Lavia, ABK, Adams, KWP probably at a minimum, it will be up to us whether Tella leaves or not. If we get offered upwards of £20m and he wants out, then I’m not sure we’ll stand in his way but I doubt we’d make it easy for him. I’m fully expecting him to be at the club in August.
  20. Based on what? He certainly will be, up to the club to accept or reject what Burnley offer, it’s not solely up to him
  21. Yes, but if we got promoted with him, we’d buy someone else to complement him. He’d be a big loss if we were to lose him, (which I’m fully expecting to happen), but wouldn’t be the end of the world.
  22. Arma is off to Ipswich supposedly.
  23. He wanted him gone.
  24. Sulemena has had half a season, playing for a shit team, managed by Jones and Selles. There’s no doubt he’s got something about him at his age. Adams is a good player as he’s shown over the last few years, but he’s not a natural goalscorer. He will have suitors. Diallo I’m assuming we’ll flog back to France or something,
  25. That’s why I put 2 new players in there, CM/AM are pretty fluid, cos it depends on systems etc, 442, 433, 4231,
