If I had to have a punt now....big changes this summer. Whether we'll be able to shift this many it remains to be seen. Squad of 22 + kids GK: Bazunu, Macca, New RB: Tino, Bree LB: Perraud, Larios CB: Bednarek, Stephens, NEW, NEW CM: NEW, NEW, Smallbone; Alcaraz, SArmstrong, LM/RM: Sulemena, Tella, NEW, Edozie, Dibling ST; NEW, Mara, Ballard Leaves the below going: 18!!! Caballero KWP, Lyanco, Salisu, ABK, DCC, AMN Diallo, JWP, Lavia, Djenepo, Elyounoussi, Aribo, Walcott, Orsic Che, AArmstrong, Onuachu
-
No contest - Forest at home. Didn't have a shot on target. Passed the ball to Lyanco for him to lump it to nobody. Absolutely atrocious performance.
-
Lascelles is a decent shout, proper leader but probably proven to not quite be premier league level. Depending on what happens financially this summer and who we lose, we should be able to afford him. If he wants to play, then it's a decent option for him too. However, probably not a sellable asset, so probably wouldn't sign him. Though hopefully they're learned their lesson this year.
-
It’s mental really. The only ones that are starting regularly: Bazunu - shouldn’t be Perraud - decent but not great. ABK - could be class, but had a lot of injuries. Lavia - could be world class Alcaraz - good player, but really inconsistent. Most of the rest have been a categoric waste of money.
-
We need goals, plus some better creativity. I think it's highly likely we'll have Smallbone and Tella back with us next season, unless we need the money and get offered decent wedge for Tella. Starting next season with something like the below in simplistic terms... Bazunu Livramento Bednarek NEW CB Perraud SArmstrong New DM Smallbone NEW NEW Tella With possible places for Sulemena, Alcaraz, Mara, Aribo, Djenepo, Edozie, Diallo, Larios, Walcott.... Realistically we need a New experienced CB, an experienced DM, and a known goalscorer in that division, and it wouldnt be looking too bad.

A mate of mine reckons Adam Armstrong is off to Ipswich. You just know he'll score a few next season against us. Fully expecting KWP, Lavia, Adams, JWP, ABK, Salisu, DCC, Orsic to go. Possibly Alcaraz too. Walcott - might be worth keeping him for next season if he wants to sign a reduced contract. Can't see us signing AMN cos he's shite, but I guess as a squad option in the Champ, he might be some kind of asset.
-
Think that was Forest at home.
-
Got offered a free ticket, still can’t bring myself to go. Club doesn’t deserve our support atm. Bring on next season and the new start,
-
Huge kudos to those that are travelling, I certainly can’t justify the cost on that shite. I won’t be watching, 4 or 5-0 probably. We will be bullied.
-
Not signing a proper keeper Letting Romeu go and gambling on Lavia being in form and fit all season. Lack of creativity Lack of goalscorer / goal threat. (Got lucky with Broja last season) Losing a spine of experience last summer whether you rate them or not… (Forster, Stephens, Bednarek, Romeu, Redmond, Long) Nathan Fucking Jones.

Transfermarkt is a terrible resource for transfer fees, so many of them are wrong on there. They wouldnt have a clue
-
No surprise is it. He was offered a contract in line with Fraser when he was made no 1 a few seasons ago. At the time we was on the edge of the England squad. Fraser has now gone. Atleast he's got a clause in his contract that it drops with the lack of games. Would explain why we've been hesitant to take Bazunu out the firing line though.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. (I have no idea) But clearly, SR are restructuring the club starting at the top. I was told a while back that Semmens was on his way out, but haven't heard much since. But basically SR are looking to consolidate some of these roles into their setup. i.e. Scouting team that is working on recruitment for SR, not necessarily for Southampton FC. This summer is going to be incredibly interesting for a lot of different reasons.
-
It's not an attitude issue. It's to do with his contract situation, i.e. atm he isn't signing one. Should have a choice from ABK, DCC and Lyanco at a minimum.
-
They’re turned a corner over the last few months, but they’re still a team full of poor players. Outtara looks decent and they will cause us issues but I just have a feeling we’ll win on Thursday. Is Che fit? Baz; KWP DCC ABK Perraud; Lavia JWP; Walcott Alcaraz Sulemena Adams.
-
In hindsight yes, he was absolutely shattered though. Sure Selles would have preferred to keep him on if he could…

Romeo Lavia - Official: Signs for Not Liverpool

Surely we’d be better off flogging him this summer before City can exercise their buy back? Whether that’s to city or alternative. I do wonder whether City might “pay” us to keep him another season, he’s absolutely ready to move up the table though. -
I’ve seen that before, I’m not sure I’ve ever understood the point in it as it’s bollocks. Better off looking at whoscored who at least rate players of statistical analysis.
-
Selles said he brought on a centre back and went 5 at the back to protect the 2 full backs who were also on yellows at HT. it made sense when you take the emotion out of it, but sadly, it’s probably more the fault of the players who got booked in the first half. KWP’s was never a yellow though
-
Alcaraz was taken off because he’s a hot head and he had been booked. I’d have taken neither off, but you can see why Charly was brought off.
-
Most of our squad is shit, and don’t get me wrong I’m not his biggest fan, but in a game like that, he’s absolutely fine. He played well, and put a proper shift in. It’s when you expect him to break down a lower side at home, he’s a problem. I’ve always said, that in reality you need at least 2 more attacking players on the pitch than him,
-
For all those slating Elyounoussi, I thought he had a decent game tonight. Checked on WhoScored and our third best “performance” behind Alcaraz and Walcott,
-
Thought he was decent tonight until the key moment when he palms the ball straight back into the danger area. He’s not good enough yet, despite him showing a lot of positives this season. Criminal he’s had the whole season as first choice IMO,
-
Came here expecting ppl to be giving Selles a bit of praise for getting a result against the league leaders. Some big expectations on his shoulders given what he has at his disposal. Obviously frustrating to not get the win, but to get us into that position playing some decent front footed stuff, I think he deserves some credit personally.

Absolutely Superb tonight.
