  1. What an odd thread all round. Loved him in L1 and done a good job last year. Not good enough for us now though sadly.
  2. @SouthamptonFC: Mauricio Pochettino: "I'm pleased and satisfied with how the team has been playing, but you always need a bit of dissatisfaction." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "All that games that I manage - whether they are at home or away - are winnable, so I want to win." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "I'd like to congratulate Michael Laudrup because he's having an amazing season." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "@SwansOfficial's brand of football is established, and quite similar to what we're trying to achieve at Southampton." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: Pochettino says Guly and Kelvin Davis are doubtful for the trip to @SwansOfficial but the rest of the squad is training well. #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: Pochettino sends his congratulations to José Fonte, who became a father to son Luca earlier today. #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP on Michu: "The style of football he plays at @SwansOfficial suits him, and it is similar to the style he was playing in Spain." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP on recent transfer stories: "There are many players linked to us, and this is a time when there are many rumours going around." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "We are a club that has a large scouting network. We send people to games in France, Germany, Holland, Italy etc." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "Our large scouting network means rumours start. We are always going to be linked with certain players." #saintsfc

  4. I think the arguement needs to be Lallana or Gaston, rather than Davis or Gaston...?
  5. I've never heard of him apart from he is free and used to play under Pochettino at Espanyol. Is he any good?
  6. Reckon he might have said he's keen but wanted to leave it to see if we stay up this season, and then the deal is in place for us to sign him this summer.
  7. Cork's 100th appearance for Southampton on Saturday. Fair play lad !
  8. Personally would have Davis in there - he keeps things ticking over really well and rarely loses the ball. Personally think playing Lambert, J-Rod, Gaston and Lallana is too much and we leave our selves far too open.
  9. Anyone know if we have a full squad to choose from on Saturday? Hopefully J-Rod and Shaw have fully recovered. Not sure on what team I would go with personally. Boruc; Clyne Fonte Yoshi Shaw; Cork Morgan; J-Rod Davis Gaston; Lambert Subs: Davis; Forren Fox; JWP Lallana Punch; Mayuka.

  11. Thats ridiculous. Were you wearing colours or was that decided by accents ? I'm staying in Cardiff and getting the train over to Swansea and back on Saturday.
  12. I'm assuming you didnt go there this season then? It was silent in the home ends.
  13. Based on absolutely nothing but a hunch. Hence why I said 'I reckon'.
  14. I reckon around £30/35,000
  15. Thought you said he was world class ?!
  16. Gazza - 21 - looks a handy young keeper, will improve. Done ok when he was given a chance this season, but not quite ready. Mayuka - 22 - barely played but looked lively a few times when he has come on. Be interesting to see whether hes involved a bit more next season. Gaston - 22 - flashes of utter class, scored 5 goals, 3 assists. Not bad for a first season. Guly - signed in L1 and had a huge part to play in our 2 promotion season. Forren - 25 and barely played for us yet having joined unfit. Courted by other decent clubs and came highly rated. You carry on writing players off though you utter twunt.
  17. Lived in Sheffield for four years, and 'supported' them when I did and safe to say the atmosphere there is absolutely pathetic. Even their own fans who I knew a lot of, said it was dreadful.
  18. Just had a look at Bennetts' career path... Cork City>Reading>Southampton (loan)>Brentford (loan)>Brentford>Wycombe Wanderers (loan) >Wycombe Wanderers>Cheltenham Town>AFC Wimbledon And this guy started as your first choice CB in the Npc FFS.
  19. It will be everyones cup finals next year playing Portsmouth, I bet they cant wait to go to that incredible ground Nottarf Krap.
  20. Funny that the list of games when a team has no Engllish players, the majority are Wigan games who haven't had any English. You can't moan about having no English players to watch when there are plenty out there playing out of their skins and don't get a chance. Noble, Jarvis, Britton, Holt last year, Cork, Lallana, Lambert, Clyne, Shaw, Rodriguez, probably a few coming through at Villa. I do agree there is a problem that the top sides don't have that many English players, but surely that means that a few of the others should be given a chance. Personally hate the fact that England players are picked even if they don't play every week. If they made this pretty much mandatory, it would also stop these good young players just going to the top teams and sitting on the bench.
  21. Why? Maybe if he came in and played for 4 or 5 games and was dreadful then I could understand....but can't write him off before he's even played and only been here 3 months. Wait and see until he has had a full pre season under his belt then we will see how good he is.
  22. So backto what I asked last night....Does their -10 get carried over to next season?
  23. Depends how you judge it. Is it someone who played a lot but was awful and had a negative contribution, or someone who was just so bad they couldnt get in the side ?
