Pretty sure he'll start. Whether he plays very well or not is a different story and unlikely he'll complete 90 minutes.
-
One thing that is really ****ing me off is the team talks. You tell your players that they've played well having won away and Liverpool, and they 'seem disinterested' or 'demotivated'. Don't understand that at all!
-
It's not been removed at all, as it was never there. I get sent each individual tweet by text from @officialsaints. Not sure what you're trying to get out of this!?
-
Its made up bull****. SC on a windup.
-
Ha!! LOL!!!!
-
No because it's been done on multiple other threads already. Apart from the **** stirring you're doing based on 2nd hand rumours!!
-
After the thread yesterday as well, I'd say it's pretty likely you're a skate. Lock.

To be fair though, there aren't many teams around us who bought better are there, Carroll is a lump but that's about it on 80k a week, Jarvis is a handy player but I'd rather have Gaston for the same price. Maiga maybe but Mayuka was cheaper. Pogregnybk? Not for me. Mclearly? I saw him play a few times for Forest and he didnt do a lot until his last 6 months there. What's he done for reading so far? Rather than us being wholey ripped off maybe it's just the going rate?! The only player I can really think of is Collins at WHU but I don't think he'd suit us and be worse than Yoshi! Really didn't expect Jos to be that bad in the prem tbf!
-
He's a completely different player to Lambert though. He's not going to go up for headers bring the ball down, billy defenders off the ball and lay it off to someone. He's a lot more effective playing with his face to goal an running at people. I actually think he's done pretty well in the few games he's played. He's probably finding it quite difficult coming here and not playing every week. New city, different part of the country, he's only 23 isn't he, it's no surprise. Patience needed IMO

The longer they go on without making much of an impact or failing the more they'll cost! It's just people's way of suiting their opinion!
-
Why is it ? We had a L1/Champ squad last year, we needed to improve the whole squad not just the first 11. We play one up front? So you're saying we should just forget about Lambert because he cost £1m and play J-Rod every week because he cost £6m?! Not at all, we have to decide who gives us more on an individual game basis. J-Rod has huge potential, but at the moment he isn't as effective as Rickie.
-
But it's absolutely ridiculous comparing him to one player. Yes Demba is a better player than J-Rod, and what ?! Andy Carroll cost £35m, Torres cost £50m, Jordan Rhodes cost £10m and he'd only ever done well in L1. You can compare it with whoever you want to whatever situation you want.
-
Bit different anyway, transfer fees have rocketed since we were last in the Premiership. Championship sides spend £4/5m on one player these days.
-
J-Rod I can see why we spent the money. We were clearly courting him for a while and we need some backup/alternative for Rickie. Mayuka is 21 and a bit of a random one. Sure Gazza was about £1m. Ramirez was a lot but he's clearly worth it from what I've seen. Clyne for £2.5m is a steal as he's class. Davis for free/£500k is a pretty good deal whichever way you look at it as we needed someone who has played in the prem before and he's still not that old. Think it could have been better and understand other peoples view that we used money in places that we didnt necessarily need to. If we could have got a few players in cheaper to play up front, and spent more on a CB/LB then I think people would have been saying we couldnt have done much better, but thats just hindsight.

Newcastle target Lallana rumour in Daily Mirror
Saint Garrett replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Jarvis and Adam are completely different players. The only reason theyre being compared on here is because he left a relegated team for loads of money in the summer. -
Not bad at all

http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=116471 A lot of them think we'll have too much for them, which we really should to be fair. Just worry if Gaston isn't around then thats a big hole to fill, but maybe it will make some of our other boys to step up. Wouldn't be surprised to see us go 4-4-2 with Lambert playing just off J-Rod as we have done a couple of times this season.

I went to Walsall (a), Hartlepool (a), Tranmere (a) and Rochdale (a) in our promotion season. 3 of them on Tuesday nights and a total of 1 point between them with that being a 0-0 at Hartlepool!!
-
I was at that one, and also there a few years before when a certain Rickie Lambert knocked us out of the cup !

Dellhurst Park.

I was there when we played in our white away kit !

Gaston is clearly class, but he was never going to just be able to come here and take the league by storm....not many foreigners are able to do that, especially ones who are 21! I think we just have to appreciate how good he is. Yes he's going to give the ball away a bit because he tries to play those passes which are likely to get cut out. What would you rather, he passed it backwards and got a 100% completion rate, or an 85% completion rate and actually tries to play cutting through balls. I know what I'd rather.

The Southampton Transfer Committee...
Saint Garrett replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Alan Nixon on twitter said at the time that Mayuka was 100% a Cortese signing, as he know him. He also stated that it was direct deal between him and the club to the point that we avoided all agents fees. -
Is that the 'No respect my lord'? ha
