  1. Come Christmas we'll have played Reading, Villa, Sunderland, Wigan, Newcastle, Norwich, Fulham all at home. The only teams of the bottom 10 that we will have played away will be QPR and Liverpool. So we're going to have to pick up point against the teams around us away from home and from the better sides at home. Although our run in is relatively kind, it's still going to need some big performances between now and the end of the season. It's so important that we beat Reading and Sunderland at home IMO.
  2. Was sung at Carroll Vs WHU as well earlier in the season, he was also shocking and caused our defence problems !
  3. Gave Yoshi a torrid time though. If the woeful Clattenburg had given a free kick for his shoving and shirt pulling in the first instance it would have stopped it from happening all game. Holt is a lump, with half the footballing ability that Rickie has, but he is always going to cause problems because of his physical presence.
  4. Fonts for me
  5. There was that awful kit we had in 06/7 I think ?!!? which had black arms and Bale played for us in it. It was awful IMO.

  7. There are pros and cons of either one playing. I agree we should play the best team for the opposition. Plus it'll only kill J-Rod's confidence and value if he doesn't play ever. He needs to get involved. No reason why by next season he won't be our no1 striker. But maybe not.
  8. Biggest shock on this is that Turkish is 35! I thought he was about 20.
  9. But we don't. When J-Rod has played up front we play the ball into the channels for him to chase down and help move us up the pitch. Lambert doesn't play like that because he has no pace, so the ball goes into Rickie, he generally lays it off and then we look for runners beyond him. Different ways of playing depending on opposition. Also J-Rod defends from the front a lot better than Rickie does. That doesn't mean I think it's a better way of us playing, just good to have alternatives.
  10. I can see that, and I respect your opinion. However I can also see Adkins reasoning for it, so can't really beat him with it can you? It might have worked, in the end it didn't. But more than once have his subs turned the game around. It was very unedrstandable that Vs West Ham we wanted to keep the ball on the floor as much as possible as they were better than us in the air. Ok maybe Rickie should have played, but J-Rod had a very decent game agaisnt West Ham and set up a goal.
  11. Although I disagree with some of that, I do believe we had to take off those 3 in the Man Utd match, although this arguement will go on and on. The 10 minutes before we made the changes we were totally ineffectual and the ball wasn't sticking up front. In hindsight, maybe we shouldnt have taken them off, but we could have quite easily gone up the other end and hit them on the break and gone 3-1 up. You can't really say we did any worse than we would have done if these players had stayed on. They were knackered.
  12. I've got some Italian lad in goal, can't rememebr his name begins with a C. Consigli maybe or something like that Defence is Clyne, Belluschi, Toloi, Robinson(Liverpool) --------Morgan Cork Torje -----Ramirez----- Lallana ---------Ademilson Still have quite a few Saints players my squad but quite a few are out on loan. Could give Sharp away for some reason, he wouldn't even go when I offered him out for free. Also got quite a few youngsters in my squad coming through and Shaw is currently out getting experience in the Championship along with quite a few foreign youngsters I've brought in. Something not quite clicking in my side though, it's lacking something. Also had Jenas on loan in my first season, but now have Pedro Leon, Podolski and Chamakh on loan, as needed some forward experienced cover.

  14. Think we'll start with the same team barring any injuries. Ideally, get 2-0 up and then bring Rickie, Gaston and Morgan off if he's not been booked.
  15. Should be playing then.
  16. Who said we couldnt have done both. J-Rod is clearly better than Sharp and we were clearly after a few different CB's but the deals never happened. I don't think by spending the £6m on J-Rod, it meant that then we couldn't afford to bring in defenders.
  17. Don't think he has enough bite or guile to play there. Plus from what I've seen he struiggles in tight situations but looks a lot better when he's got a bit of space. You don't get that in the Prem. Cork and Morgan are so calm when they have 2 men on them, and still rarely lose the ball.
  18. Maybe he would be good playing CM in the Spanish league, but in the Prem? Not for me.
  19. Not sure about that. Their whole team is a solid unit who are big and play no nonsense football. If the ball is in their half it goes long. It's probably a way of letting in less goals aslong as they have a target, but it's draedful to watch and they're never going to score many like that.
  20. Well neither Gaston or Lambert would be very good at DM. And pretty sure Michu wouldn't be either.
  21. He's not a 'no nonsense' CB though. Its' not why we brought him in. He's always going to have a tough game against the likes of Ba, Carroll, etc. But he's relatively quick and quick in the mind as well as he anticipates the game very well and can put in a good standing tackle.
  22. I spend a lot of time with West Ham supporting mates, and can tell you they do not rate Jaaskeleinen one bit. Say he's way past it. Collins they say is dodgy, and was in his first stint there, but all he has to do is kick the ball as far as possible when it comes near him. I wouldn't have either of these in our side. Of course I think we should have strengthened in other areas, but if we're saying like for like positions then I'm not sure I would be that bothered about any other 'realistic' targets. Maybe Matt Jarvis as I think he's a good player but for the same money we spent on Gaston ? No chance.
  23. He's 22, but there are probably doubts about how old he actually is...
  24. Carling Cup vs Stevenage. Punch, Lee, Sharp and Reeves scored in that one. So it's actually more like 10 league goalscorers.
  25. Ok well I am not ITK so I can't prove that, but didn't he turn down a move to another Italian side last summer, and also Liverpool and Spurs were heavily linked. Probably something to dowith money, and also something to do with us building the team around him. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/165563.html
