  1. Don't think people are saying NA is blameless, but he is learning from his mistakes. It's a learning curve for the whole club, including the chairman and manager. Given the position we found ourselves in with 2 promotions it would have been very harsh to sack Adkins. As long as the fans see progression and people learning, and not being completely outclassed then there is no issue who the manager is. Stick with NA he deserves a chance.
  2. We have a problem with the Left back spot. Shaw has been nothing short of superb since he's come in. Yes he's 17 but it would be harsh to bring in someone and block his progress. But on the other hand we've already seen Fox isn't good enough if Shaw gets injured, but at the same time what player is going to want to come here to potentially be 2nd in line to Shaw ?
  3. Why? We don't play with players who can sprint down the wing and swing a ball in. We don't particularly put crosses in, it's more about the fluidity of the movement of the front 4 and interchanging.
  4. Apparently 20 minutes of highlights on Saints Player, so someone can have a look on there about the pens sure they'll be on there.
  5. Lallana doesnt need to be super fast as he's so good at creating space for himself and using his skills. Defenders know he's capable of embarrassing them so they're starting to step off him.
  6. He's poor. He is fast but thats about it. He gets the ball stuck under his feet and has very little awareness about what is going on around him. Also his final ball is extremely poor.
  7. Not particularly Adkins fault that Cork and Ramirez were unfit...as well as Fox. In hindsight, Shaw probably should have played vs West Ham, but would have been a bit unfair throwing him in at Upton Park to make his Premier League debut into a team with very low confidence against a team full of 6 foot 4 lumps.
  8. To be fair, what striker is going to have a huge influence on the game if they're isolated. Rickie wins a lot of the ball and lays the ball off better than I have seen anyone do I think. He's got a superb touch and vision is also fantastic.
  9. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city-fc/michael_turner_and_john_ruddy_injury_worries_for_norwich_city_s_trip_to_southampton_1_1709209 Turner definitely out for them, and Ruddy a possible out - would be handy. Anyone have any update on Lambert's injury as it looked as though he was struggling a bit towards the end yesterday.
  10. Butterfield I think will stay as he's the only senior player who seems to regularly play for the youth team. Sure he's kind of looking at a coaching role in the club, and also a good professional for the youngsters to look up to.
  11. Why would the club comment on it !? If he is good enough he'll be in the side, he's clearly not.
  12. Will depend who we bring in. If we bring in another attacking player then one will go. Doesn't make a huge amount of sense selling all of our backup players as suspensions and injuries will happen. Would certainly look to sell a few of them though.
  13. No doubt itshelped having a consistent defensive unit though. Is that the 3rd game in a row we've started with that team. Good performance vs Swansea should have won but for a **** up between Gazza and Yoshi. Great performance vs QPR. Great performance vs Newcastle and a clean sheet. The players are getting used to each other, Cork is back which is a huge plus for us, as him, Morgan, Fonte all played last season. And Yoshi is settling along with Clyne who has been pretty decent all season IMO and Shaw who has been fantastic.
  14. I think there is something in this...
  15. Shaw is incredibly good in the air for a small lad !
  16. If you're tecnically good and quick then you don't play for a side battling for relegation! Ronaldo/Messi etc.
  17. Noticed this a few times this season. We're certainly wising up to the Premiership.
  18. Thing is though that happens all the time. If it was outside the box it probably would have been a foul. As it was inside the officials seem to think it needs to be assault to win a penalty. We're a small club in this division which makes it a lot less likely we'll get decisions. Just the way it is. They were abysmal yesterday, probably one of the worst group performances from the officials i've seen in a long time. **** refs, we always get **** refs...
  19. I meant to the prasing us comment.
  20. Thought him and Fonte dealt with Cisse and Ba very very well yesterday.
  21. Did he? All I saw of him was him saying they were knackered and had loads of players missing. Because of that our intensity was a lot higher than theirs but they had to put in young players who are in bad form.
  22. Gaston just glides across the surface he's quick but can still control the ball. Our players have 'clever' pace rather than just 'raw' pace. It's little darting 2 yard movements and drops of the shoulder which create the space, along with how quickly we're moving the ball. You very rarely see one of our players just sprinting at full pelt over 20 yards. Change of pace is a lot more valuable than raw pace IMO.
  23. Agree we should be concentrating on staying up. But you need some luck if you're going to make progress in the cup. We're not going to play the first team in all Fa Cup games, but if we get a few good draws and suddenly you're in round 5/6. Focus should definitely go on staying up though no reason why it couldn't happen.
  24. Pardew did well for us, but glad things worked out how we did. Adkins has brought in a whole new philosophy to the club. As good a job that Pardew has done at Newcastle, he's never had a plan B.
  25. Or you just hate Cortese...
