Also, after our awesome start and believing that we're amazing, we went and lost a few games which can have a detrimental effect when confidence has been so high, with us feeling so invincible. The Doncaster/Blackpool/Pompey/Bristol City games were the start of the blip where our scoring in every game went & winning every game at home went, plus we lost to 2 of the bottom sides, would have hurt the team. Although I agree with adriansfc, that the injuries/suspensions/weather all play a factor.
Drop Davis he had a shocker on Saturday
Davis
Frazer, Fonte, Hooiveld, Harding (If Fox isn't fit)
Guly, Morgan, Hammond, Lallana
Lambert, Sharp
Subs: Martin, Cork, Puncheon, Lee, Chaplow
Always difficult to say with Saints but this team seems to be a bit psychologically stronger than previous sides. Lets just hope we're winning at half time cos then we're pretty much certain to win
It's not a 'moan' as such, its just places to improve, and I am sure Adkins is always looking at ways in which we can improve ? 'We want to be the best we can be'
I'm really not sure he does though. I just think we were playing a lot worse players last year when Harding was playing. Harding is a L1 standard player. He should stand in for Fox, but there is no arguement who is better at both attacking and defending.
I just don't think Cork and Schneiderlin compliment eachother very well. I said it at the start of the season that IMO it has to be one of Cork/Schneiderlin and with Hammond/Chaplow. But now Chaplow hasn't played all season in the middle of the park, I'd still say Hammond is vital to how we play.
Lallana is suppoosed to be pretty much fit now. If we can't find a player to fill in for him if he's injured for the odd game then we have problems with De Ridder, Chaplow, Guly, Puncheon, Falque, Fox, Holmes, and Dickson who could all play there if necessary.
They have the best players 'on paper' and they should go up, but nothing is a certainty. They're hardly going and spanking sides are they, just grinding out results, and then they drop points in games which you expect them to win, they're far from nailed on.
Fox is twice the player Harding is. It will definitely be a weak point in our side, hopefully Foxy isnt out for too long. Also will miss his deliverys from free kicks & corners.
