If you have the money then fair play, but it’s a huge outlay for someone with no future value, ca £11m plus signing on fee.
-
We definitely need a full back on loan, or cheap that’ll be happy sat on the bench for most of the season. Wouldn’t surprise me if someone Tinos age came in, with the plan to develop them over the next few years alongside KWP, Tino and Perraud. KWP will be sold for decent money at some point I’m sure. He is class. Been told Bednarek is staying now too, which maybe why the rumours seem to have disappeared. If Bednarek stays, that says to me there is a good chance that we will play 3 atb, and Stephens will leave. Can’t see Lyanco leaving,

Have you never played FM before? Out of contract players always join at the first time after midnight. 👍 -
Sekou Mara - Official: Signs for Strasbourg

Especially at that club. They don’t have any. -
Not really sure what their expectations are as a club. I’m pretty sure their fans expect them to be competing with top 6, but given they’re in such a mess financially they’ll do well to just stay in the league until they can start spending again. But I also don’t see Lampard as a very good manager, so will be interesting to see how much patience they’ll have with him, I thought he was lucky to keep his job last season tbh.

No loss that IMO. Wouldn’t fit the way we play.

It helps when you don't have to pay for a stadium holding 65k

2 medicals booked for this week, I would assume Mara is one of them...🤔 The ones last week were for the 2 kids that joined from Spurs supposedly. -

I can't see that happening personally. His ego being the main reason... -

I think this is another very exciting signing, completely unknown and I've never heard of him. But I like the fact he could be a gem and we can flog him for massive money in a few years. Issue I have is the here and now. I feel like I've said for the last few seasons, "if we can just get through this season in the premier league with this squad, we should be able to build on all these young impressive players". My gut feeling is we'll bring in another striker as well as Mara, who has a bit more experience, whether thats to buy or on loan. But we have to accept this is the model we're going for. Trying to build a team of some of the best young (18-22) players in europe -
It's not about writing him off, but he's hardly a proven goalscorer, outside of reserve games.
-
We definitely will be right in it, because atm, it's 2 weeks til the start of the season and we don't have goals in the side. It's a big concern. But I think Ralph is a good enough manager to get a tune out of these players, as he has continued to do so over the years. We've made some decent signings, Bazunu and Lavia especially look class, but whether they'll be enough to keep us in the league we will see. I still think we need major surgery in the attacking positions, because relying on Djenepo, Elyounoussi, Armstrong, Walcott and Redmond is clearly not the right thing to be doing. Formation will probably decide how many we need to have in each position, but IMO, we need an attacking midfielder better than all of those named above, and a striker better than Adams and Armstrong. Forest are building quite a nice team, but might take some time to gel. Fulham and Bournemouth, can't imagine they'll be anything but relegation contenders, then you have Leeds, Brentford and Everton who may or may not be involved. Personally I think it's unlikely Palace, Brighton, Villa, Wolves will be sucked in. We're coming off some terrible form at the end of last season, and we only won 9 games all season. It could go either way, but with this squad, personally I don't see us finishing above 15th.
-
Yeah not really sure how Forest are coming up and splashing the cash like they are. Is their owner minted? I thought they would have to spend, but I thought they'd be spending more like 5-15m rather than these players with huge wages, given they've already signed Henderson on £120k / week.
-
Been linked with Inter, Nice and Man Utd...surprised he hasn't already had a deal lined up clearly a very decent player.
-
Yeah - he wants ridiculous money, which is why West Ham deal has stalled. They don't want to pay him that amoutn of money, which is absolutely obscene for someone who has had 6 good months in his career and now 29.
-
His family wanted him to come back to us, he got on very well and felt very positively towards the club & Ralph. He was keen to come back, Chelsea were sticking his name out there to drive the price up, and he's now out of our price range. Unfortunately it's Chelsea's prerogative to do that with their player.
-
Thats utter bullshit. 👍
-
That is absolute rubbish.
-
Will be interesting to see what happens with CHO now. Supposedly Chelsea want to sell hiim, assuming its to get some money in the door and get rid of his wages, but we wanted a loan because we wanted to buy Broja. I wonder whether our stance on that will now change. We will sign a striker without a doubt, and expect us to bring someone in on loan, whether thats a kid who needs game tima ala Broja last season, or more like KWP where he's a fringe player, but we would look to buy after the end of the season.
-
Never really understand transfermarket, their fees are always incorrect. Mane was £11.8m, Vestergaard I think was £18m, Ings was £18m. Pretty sure Armstrong wasn’t £16m either.
-
Sounds like we probably need to buy 3 attacking players…that’s not going to happen…concerning.
-
Would make sense for them to loan him and then involve him in negotiations next summer re Rice.
-
We have been. 100%
-
Agree with all your points, however still frustrating to not be able to bring him in,
