Armstrong is available for the right price. Ie what we paid for him, club doesn’t want a loan but he also doesn’t want to be here, so wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a loan with an pupation or obligation…? Depends if we need the money. The fact a lot of fans would rather have Long on the pitch than Armstrong probably says everything, he ain’t good enough.

Not really comparable. Mane is old and had 1 year on his contract and Haaland had a release clause. If you’re going to compare him with anyone it should probably be Kalvin Phillips
-
I think this is the crux of it. We couldn't afford the players it would take to replace his spot in the team. So if selling him meant we would suddenly go and change the model, then maybe, but that isn't going to happen. We probably aren't going to pay anyone over £70k a week, and we're not going to spend any more than £20m on 1 player. We're also living in a world when bang average premier league players are going for £35m +
-
For £75m? No from me.
-
Good player, nowhere near the finished article. Very quick, and can burn defenders, but very wasteful in front of goal. He'll be better next season no doubt. Didn't fit brilliantly well in a pressing team, as he generally cba to press, but he will be a quality player IMO. As long as his attitude doesn't stop him...

Shouts mind games to me...

Yeah, it's ridiculous really. Wonder how far it will go before there is chat about it being banned. I've said it before, I think it's a nonsense that someone can own multiple clubs, but while it's allowed it's just going to grow
-
I don’t think any footballer is worth £75m it’s stupid, but the market is there for everyone to see. West Ham want £150m for Rice, Leeds want north of £75m for Phillips, and JWP is better than him and on a long contract. £75m should be the minimum we consider IMO. He’s a class above and now worth 15 goals a season to us. I wouldn’t be selling unless it’s ridiculous money.

Assume you're talking about Svensson ?! He definitely was good enough !
-
It[s not about being good or bad IMO. Both those players have looked at their best playing in a "low block" in a very defensive formation. Look back at Ben Gibson when Middlesborugh were in the premier league. They played in the same way and he looked decent. Imagine him or those two playing a high line, it would be catastrophic When Burnley staerted to play a bit further up the pitch and tried to develop into being a bit more of a passing side, they let in a load of goals and got relegated. Sokme players suit some clubs and some do not. I'd much rather we went after players who can play in the wqay we want to play. Lets just hope they're good enough to be a good fit for us.

Yup, which is why I went 7. If I had to pick 6 or 8, then 8. for the exact reasons you mention. People have short memories. He';s had to deal with a club with no money, whilst trying to get rid of the drains of Lemina, Hoedt, Vestergaard etc. Hughes came in and did a decent short term job, we were bound for relegation when he came in. But then normality resumed and we were pathetic at the start of that season. Ralph came in, played some decent football and got a few wins early on. I get that he has his downfalls, but I think he's done well despite the negatives. He's also a great fit for the club....i.e. plays decent football, focuses on young plays, happy to sell best players, etc.
-
Not sure why people still think we're going to sign proven 30 year old players from the premier league on big wages. Simply not going to happen IMO.

€18m is a bit mad really. For someone who has underperformed and barely played for quite a few years. Double what they paid for him. Bonkers really

For me it’s probably a 7. He’s galvanised the club, which let’s be honest, was completely fucked when he joined. The larger issue being that we’ve not yet pushed on from that first full season. But it’s clearly driven quite a lot by the club and lack of funds. The but I struggle with is he has runs where I’d mark him 9/10 or even 10, and then he has runs when he’s more of a 1 or 2/10. Which for me is why he splits opinions so much. If we had the same results but split differently across the season, I don’t know whether people would be more favourable towards him or not. But there is no doubt the terrible runs are not acceptable and the fact the team seems to lose motivation once we think we’re safe. Assume it won’t just be on results but progression too. Feels like this is the first full off season, we’ve been able to spend a bit without it being funded by losing our best player. Will be an interesting first third of the season for sure.

Absolutely, but I heard saints thought them and Chelsea had a deal agreed. I wonder if it will affect the deal for Harvey Vale
-
I was under the impression that we are keen, wanted another Loan with an option to buy, and since chelsea have been touting him around to other clubs, driving the price up. Heard saints are fuming,
-
Fully expecting him to be starting with us, possibly not at the very start of the season, but can imagine the plan is first choice alongside Salisu.
-
Not sure I agree with that. I do like him, but he was pretty woeful for the last few months of the season. Without a doubt he has potential, but it’s still only that. If we don’t have the money I’m glad we’re looking for alternatives across the continent for much less money, but they need to be the right person.
-
Got 12 games to prove he’s the right person to take the club forward supposedly, if we start badly, it wouldn’t surprise me for him to be gone.

Spurs (A), Leeds (H), Leicester (A), Man Utd (H), chelsea (A), Wolves (H)…”apparently”… maybe day one of these leaks might be right…? -
Looks like a good bit of business. Hopefully we can bring in a decent CB partner to play alongside Sali, and a decent DM to play alongside Prowsey, and we might start to leak a few less goals. Fully expect him to be our no 1. Looks a class act already. Exciting one.
-
No idea, first I've heard of it tbh.
-
Cheap when they're talking about Rice being £150m+ I'd expect him to be upwards of £40m, especially to a "top 6" club.
