  1. Not very good at all defensively but capable of a bit of magic that no one in our squad has. I’d definitely take him, but would cost £30m+ and probably already on £100k week.
  2. £17m is the market. We just don't shop in it.
  3. Not sure I agree really, he was contending with england no 1 spot, and we'd had a history of losing our best players. We wanted to tie him down for the best bit of his career. There is a risk with any contracts, and unfortunately, for us, he lost his way and got injured. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they dont. We could be saying the same thing about JWP right now, but he's kept improving and getting better and now we're sat here thinking we won't lose our best player and if we do it will be for mega money on our terms. I'm not sure it was "stupid" really.
  4. He's garbage at most levels.
  5. Not necessarily. Maybe he’s on £100k a week for 1 year, but possibly he wants a 3 year contract on £60k? £9.5m vs £5m? Not saying he won’t possibly want Utd to contribute to his first year to leave, but doesn’t mean we’d have to pay it. FWIW, I think he’d be a decent option. Exactly the sort of player that Salisu needs, and he’s better than Bednarek and Stephens with 1 leg.
  6. He not signed a new contract ? Thought he had? Maybe we can swap him for Armstrong
  7. IMO, Brentford are a decent side, made better by Eriksen. Who knows what next year holds but they don’t look likely to go down right now. Leeds had a lot of injuries. If they can get them all back fit, then they’ll finish above us IMO. But then I am in a very negative mindset when it comes to saints atm!
  8. Last years was announced on the 27th May...we can't be far off...
  9. Surprised we're 6th favourite, I'd have probably had put us in front of Brentford and Leeds. No value in 4/1 though.
  10. Sausage rolls are actually decent on the rare occasion I ever get food in the ground. Pies not bad either. We definitely have the worse queues in the league though.
  11. He isn’t worth £15m. He’s pretty woeful, and wouldn’t improve us. I hope we stay well clear.
  12. Sure I read today we’re interested in Lunin, the young keeper at Real Madrid. No idea if true or not.
  13. My larger concern is that’s us trying to find a replacement for JWP, or he’s included in talks swap deal with spurs
  14. I’m aware.
  15. I’d take Fredericks on a 2 years contract tbh. Be decent backup, quick. Probably got a bit unfortunate that Coufal was so impressive this season.
  16. Interestingly I got told he was never bothered about discussing anything with Davis, Watson and Fleming, and only ever really bothered about Kitzbichler’s opinion.
  17. I’ve been told he’s got first 12 games next season to prove he’s the right man to take us forward. He stayed by the skin of his teeth as the saying goes.
  18. True, but nothing so far suggests they’re ploughing huge amounts into transfer budgets and there have been comments from various that the model won’t change. Time will only tell. But it will be a bonus if we suddenly find £100m to spend. I’m not expecting it
  19. Soumare any good? I'm guessing probably not good enough?
  20. Good move all round. Shame to lose him in the end, as I'd have prefereed him to stay over Macca but he's had a good run here and one had to go.
  21. The premier league is getting too rich for us definitely. Teams that have a higher capability of spending than us: "Big 6", West Ham, Newcastle, Leicester, Wolves, Villa, Palace, Brighton, Teams that we might be able to compete with: Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest / Huddersfield, Leeds, Brentford, Everton. However, you could argue Forest/Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Fulham, will all spend more money than us this summer, and Everton have got a better squad right now. Brentford might not spend big amounts but they're incredibly well run, and have a real team ethic. Leeds will have a bunch of players back from injury, and likely will spend. We are rightly going to be very high in the relegation stakes next year, and highly likely the more years go past, without proper investment, we will find ourselves out of this league. Will be very interesting to see how Fulham go about this summer, given their last few visits to the premier league.
  22. WTF, you've got to be living on a different planet to think we'd have a chance of signing Kalvin Phillips, and he's bang average anyway.
  23. I think KWP can feel hard done by, but at the same time, he's been part of a defence that has let in goals for fun this season, and there are loads of other options, not a surprise. Thats a 27 man squad, I wonder which ones would get cut if this was the World Cup squad of 23 players. Depending on system...you'd expect it to be something like the below: GK x 3 CB's x 4 FB x 4 CMs x 4 AMs/Wingers x 5 ST x 3
