Fraser Forster - Official: Signs for Spurs
Saint Garrett replied to stevy777_x's topic in The Saints
Pretty sure he wasn’t on the “lap of appreciation” last night. A shame, he’s been a good servant to the club. And he’s miles better than McCarthy. We’ve had a shocker keeping Macca and losing Fraser IMO, but a new no1 is necessary regardless. -
Irrelevant really, because they may not have played without Salah, but they now have Diaz as a replacement. Jota, Firmino, Origi. Sure they have others as aswell that I haven't thought about. But, gives us a better chance without a doubt, if Mane, Salah, VVD and TAA haven't even travelled, which is what I have heard too.
-
Not sure where you have got that from, but assuming that is the side, I heard Perraud hasn't trained, which might be why.
-
Dont think they've travelled.
-
Heard the same.
-
Would be a great signing I think. Would happily take Sosa from them too.

Whats the deal with tickets? Only seem to be able to get tickets in the Itchen North Corner

A Mark Noble Thread for some Reason (Split)

Great for him to play his whole career at his boyhood club. Great for West Ham fans. Thats about it. Never been good enough to play at a higher level, and probably on a decent contract, and loyal enough that he didnt want to leave to go elsewhere. He's a club legend but agree some of the press stuff is over the top, like fans of other clubs really care. -
Think it was just Lyanco and Romeu who went to Ibiza but we’re back by Wednesday. No idea why they’ve been allowed to go through, especially how appalling they’ve been for the last 3 months
-
We were desperate and he did a decent short term job, should have replaced him that summer though.
-
I don’t think Lacelles is a brilliant player, but he’s clearly a leader and better than Bednarek. I’d take him.
-
For me I'd like it to be something like the below. My wants + some squad players who are "cheap", and a few that we know are going nowhere. GK: NEW, Forster, Caballero FB: KWP, Tino, Perraud, New CB: Salisu, New, Lyanco, New CM: JWP, New, Romeu, Diallo AM: New, New, Armstrong, Tella, Walcott ST: New, Broja, Adams, Long Get rid either permanent or on Loan: McCarthy, Valery, Bednarek, Stephens, Smallbone, Elyounoussi, Djenepo, A Armstrong, Redmond, Small (loan), Simeu (loan) Leaves us with a "starting XI" of something like:

Was definitely a pen, and was definitely 2 yellows. Not sure anyone can argue that. Can't elbow someone in this day and age.
-
Isn’t Mukiele a RB, rather than a CB?
-
Probably the reason why he would come to us over others. Has been whispered around for ages, wouldn't be surprised with that one. Probably better off than spending £30m on Broja atm
-
Probably our most reliable striker atm. Not sure he's much of a goal threat though.
-
You wouldnt take Raphina?! The bloke is absolutely class
-
Too strict supposedly… https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/jan/10/monaco-sack-niko-kovac-unforced-error-ligue-1#:~:text=The story here in Monaco, though presumably still want discipline.

Yup - I've already renewed, but more of the days out and the away ticket priority than the enjoyment that I'm getting at the moment. But also for routine. If my life can fit a ST in, then I'm more than happy to be a STH.
-
He's a quality player playing in a shit team with no protection, and a shocking CB partner. Imagine him alongside Fonte/VVD/Toby behind Morgan and Wanyama...absolute rock.
-
He's been pretty brilliant at the jobs he's had so far, he plays on the front foot, and decent football. Would be a decent step up for him if Forest don't go down, but he might want to stay there and have another go next season.
-
A slightly narrower central "stripe", and black trim between the red and white, and I think it would look pretty smart. Lets see. I assume it won't be launched for a while anyway. Though they're barely ever kept secret these days

We were at our best recruitment wise, when we were buying first choice players and improving the first XI with the current players moving to backups. The likes of Wanyama, Davis, Jrod, Clyne, Lovren, Osvaldo, Alderweireld, Mane, Tadic, VVD, KWP. We're at our worse recruitment wise, when we sign squad filler. It's about time we start buying players that are a step up from what we have. Whether we can afford them or not, is another issue, but I can't imagine we can't afford any players who are better than what we have. I can't imagine that those listed above were "cheap" at the time. Maybe other teams scouting has just improved a lot, and we're now not the first to find these kind of players.
