But, gives us a better chance without a doubt, if Mane, Salah, VVD and TAA haven't even travelled, which is what I have heard too.

Great for him to play his whole career at his boyhood club. Great for West Ham fans. Thats about it. Never been good enough to play at a higher level, and probably on a decent contract, and loyal enough that he didnt want to leave to go elsewhere. He's a club legend but agree some of the press stuff is over the top, like fans of other clubs really care.

He's a quality player playing in a shit team with no protection, and a shocking CB partner. Imagine him alongside Fonte/VVD/Toby behind Morgan and Wanyama...absolute rock.

He's been pretty brilliant at the jobs he's had so far, he plays on the front foot, and decent football. Would be a decent step up for him if Forest don't go down, but he might want to stay there and have another go next season.

We were at our best recruitment wise, when we were buying first choice players and improving the first XI with the current players moving to backups. The likes of Wanyama, Davis, Jrod, Clyne, Lovren, Osvaldo, Alderweireld, Mane, Tadic, VVD, KWP. We're at our worse recruitment wise, when we sign squad filler. It's about time we start buying players that are a step up from what we have. Whether we can afford them or not, is another issue, but I can't imagine we can't afford any players who are better than what we have. I can't imagine that those listed above were "cheap" at the time. Maybe other teams scouting has just improved a lot, and we're now not the first to find these kind of players.
