Interesting...I believe he moved back to cornwall, as his missus wanted to as they're both from down there, so I was told he wanted to play for someone closer to home. so to move to Watford is an interesting one. Think he'll do ok there though, but if they get promoted again sure he'll be happy being a squad player.

Looking forward to this one. Can’t be any worse than when we went up there at the end of last season. Hopefully we go with 4222. 🤞

Yup - think we've been a better side under Ralph with Redmond in the team, than when he isn't.

Not sure they'd benefit by announcing it at the fans forum though.

To call Redmond a bad signing is incredibly harsh. He might not be playing at the level we had hoped he would be, but he cost what, £12m, won player of the season, and didn't he get the most assists for us last season, despite not playing much? I'd keep him as a squad player for sure. I think he deserves a bit more respect than he gets on here.

Haven’t we been through this small squad size thing before? And we ended up having to play a load of kids who were nowhere near ready and got pummelled?! Every club needs some squad players, and players like Redmond, Elyounoussi, Stephens are probably fine as squad players. As long as they’re happy not plying every week. I find it baffling that we could end up having no players with any experience on the bench, and only having kids who are L1/2 level.

Because we have got results playing 3 at the back last season. Against city home and away for example. Arsenal home. It’s not like we have never played well in that system.

That he felt like it was an easier formation to bed the new signings into, whereas 4222 takes a bit more time to get used to play it. He's also hamstrung by the fact Perraud was injured, so didn't really have a left back. I would expect that once Perraud is fully fit, 4222 will be our choice of formation. possibly from the Brentford game onwards just before the international break.

Because we clearly had issues last season, especially in the last 3 months of last season. If we'd gone 4222 with the players from last season, and got tonked 4-1 you'd be saying why did we not change the players, or why did we go so open against a top side.
